FrankJohansen (3329), Sabro, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown colour with a small off white head. A light porter with taste of licorice and chocolate. A bit watery. hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Sep 17, 2008 Dark brown. Leathery liquorice aroma. Taste is sweet and malty with a little ash and a gentle bitter chocolate finish. Fair enough, though it does not quite tick every porter box. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Sep 16, 2008 pour was light brown, with a redish hue.aromas of coffee and malted barleys, taste of coffee, chocolate and caramal, the beer was thin an and light but drinkable MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 16, 2008 Dark mahogany with a small, bubbly white head. Watery, grainy nose of roasted malt, reminiscient of swill fests. Flavor is a little better with more roasted malt, caramel, some medicine. Palate is sharp and stinging, rather odd when coupled with the lingering bitter roast. Not very impressed. stobbe74 (662), Denmark Sep 15, 2008 Sampled at EBF2008. Pours a dark brown beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweetness and raisin. The flavor is roasted and sweetness. The mouthfeel leaves some hops, and the beer is just above average. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 13, 2008 Updated: Sep 14, 2008Really pissed off that they didn’t package this in my variety pack after its picture is clearly on the box, so it gets a failure across the board from me. This isn’t the first time that Flying Dog has screwed me on a variety pack, either- I got two tripels and no barleywines in a variety four-pack a few months ago. Thanks for the false advertising, assholes!
