Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

First off I must say that, in my best estimation, this is not a porter. That being said, the beer poured dark brown with a thin tan head. Mild aroma of malty roast. The flavor really was flat and malty with essentially no hop presence. Light to medium body. Possibly good for a Scottish Ale but I was looking for a tasty porter.

I do not know the exact difference between a Scottish ale and porter. But this hoppier than most Continental porters.

Poured fom bottle a clear dark brown with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is light with sweet malt and just a touch of burnt coffee. Flavor is malty sweet with a little bitter chocolate, burnt roasted grains and coffee. The palate has some malty smoothness to it and a mild bittering with a little hop flavor coming out at the very end. Overall, decent beer, maybe a bit thin in body and slightly too charred, but Iwould drink another, no doubt.

pours dark brown with reddish tint. aroma and flavor are average if not mediocre for a porter, nothing exciting to speak of. still tasty though.

Very easy to drink. It reminded me of a light beer even though its a porter. I think its one of the better flying dogs.

Bottled. Very deep ambery brown colour, mediumsized brownish beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt wet wood as well as some hops and mild notes of licorice. Flavour is quite much the same along with chocolate and caramel malts. A bit watery palate, but indeed strangely "soft" for being 6 % ABV.

Dark brown, amber and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is burnt and hoppy. Flavor starts moderate sweet and finish moderate bitter.
