craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA Jul 28, 2008 pours dark brown with reddish tint. aroma and flavor are average if not mediocre for a porter, nothing exciting to speak of. still tasty though. scotch4281 (39), Hollywood, Florida, USA Jul 26, 2008 Very easy to drink. It reminded me of a light beer even though its a porter. I think its one of the better flying dogs.
oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Jul 26, 2008 Bottled. Very deep ambery brown colour, mediumsized brownish beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt wet wood as well as some hops and mild notes of licorice. Flavour is quite much the same along with chocolate and caramel malts. A bit watery palate, but indeed strangely "soft" for being 6 % ABV. Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Jul 22, 2008 Dark brown, amber and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is burnt and hoppy. Flavor starts moderate sweet and finish moderate bitter. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Jul 20, 2008 Clear, dark copper-orange. Sour mash aroma, grassy. Flavor is sour, bitter chocolate. A bit thin BiddleBrau (303), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jul 13, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2009Dark with ruby highlights with a dense white head. Aroma is of roasted coffee while flavor is caramel/coffee. Minimal hop bitterness with a nice pleasant mouthfeel. thebeertourist (2751), Oslo, Norway Jul 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big beige head. Malty , slightly roasted aroma. Mildly roasted flavours teaming up with a bit of nuts and molasses. Overall quite malty impression. Rather good. scrizzz (1252), kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 11, 2008 clear very dark brown. dark inviting malty aroma, though from the description, i was expecting some peat. i really dig the flavor here, there’s full roast, lighter body, nutty character and a drawn out hopped finish. great balance between dark roast without a heavy body.
