jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Apr 22, 2008 pours translucent brown/ruby, very little off white head. aroma is slightly alcoholic, caramely. well balanced, a little ight bodied for a porter. maybe a little overcarbed for style, too... thewolf (5623), Kolding, Denmark Apr 22, 2008 Bottle @ Chris o.
Pours deep red mahogany with a small, creamy off-white head. Aroma is softly sweet with a slight chocolate touch. Low to medium carbonation. Flavour is soft, not particularly powerful, subdued chocolate. A little boring. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Apr 21, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at the Rake. Semi translucent red brown with a good beige head. Lots of earthy malt with a bit of chocolate. Not much happening. Slight hops on the finish but pretty bland all round. Thin palate rounds it off suitably. Furseth (1328), Kungälv, Sweden Apr 20, 2008 Bottle at Bishoparms Järntorget Göteborg: Dark red clear colour, flat head. Aroma of citrus, raisins, hops, dark chocolateand fruits in the end. Flavor is smouth mouth feeling, thin to medium body(easy drinking). Mild body, smouth thin hopy fruity finish. skortila (2875), Bunnik, Netherlands Apr 20, 2008 Bottled. Aroma has some roasted malts, some coffee. Clear, dark brown coloured with a lasting, beige head. Taste is sweet, bit fruity with roasted malts, coffee. Some bitterness. Medium bodied. Disappointing. garretjax (103), Colorado, USA Apr 18, 2008 Dark brown coior with a grainy off white thin head. Roasted malt is predominantly detected. Full bodied and too much carbonation. Roasted malt and some coffee flavors. Nothing great, not bad. Sour medium finish. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Apr 18, 2008 Pours a thin dark brown with a practically non-existent head. Not much aroma here - a bit of sour licorice and roasty malts, but not much else. The licorice comes through in the taste as well, as does the roasted malt flavor. The palate is thin to the point of detracting from the overall experience. Overall there is nothing really offensive about this beer, it’s pretty good, but there is nothing remarkable about it. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Apr 18, 2008 Bottled. Clear redbrown color, short off-white head. Soft aroma of roasted malt, some coffee. Malty aroma, some chocolat and coffee, though very soft. Slight bitter. Not bad, but quite boring.
