natejgood (189), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 3, 2008 Pours fairly dark but lets more light through than many porters. The head was a light brown color and disappeared quickly. The beer smells lightly of malt and cocoa. The beer tasted a little sour when it hi my mouth but quickly mellowed into a smooth, sweet flavor. This beer isn’t bad it is just a little thin looking, smelling, and tasting for a serious porter. For those who like their porters on the lighter side this might be a good bet. gringo332 (236), Richardson, Texas, USA Apr 3, 2008 I found this to be one of the better flying dogs. it has an awesome aroma. Not much head unfortunately. 12 ounce bottle- poured a deep and slightly translucent mahogony brown with a moderate beige head that cleared too quickly for my taste. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 3, 2008 Dark, redish brown with a medium tan head. Mlaty and salty notes. Sweet & sour, malt and nut taste. Medium body with a dryish aftertaste. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Apr 1, 2008 Bottle from Bier Koning. Brown body. Slight head. Sweet nose of nuts. Very nice texture and mouthfeel. Taste of chocolate, nuts, caramel but none too pronounced, and slight malts. Hoppy and peppery finish. Enjoyable. FatTony (121), Augusta, Georgia, USA Mar 30, 2008 12 ounce bottle- poured a deep and slightly translucent mahogony brown with a moderate beige head that cleared too quickly for my taste. The aroma was all nuts and smoke. Mouth feel was pleasant and creamy. A lighter taste than most porters. Very nice. Worth a try. naivepegasus (183), USA Mar 29, 2008 Pours black with a finger of slowly dissipating beige head. Odor of nuts and malt, and a little hint of smoke. Not a really strong taste in there, seems almost slightly buttery with a little hint of hazelnuts. The hops and malts are primarily apparent in the aftertaste, which is bitter and a little smoky. A decent porter, but nothing special. ShawnMalloy (119), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA Mar 28, 2008 Decent porter. Pours medium brown with not much head. Light on the malt factor. Only slight hints of chocolate or caramel with a tiny bitter finish. keith0718 (157), Olathe, Kansas, USA Mar 26, 2008 Nice palate. That’s about all I can say for this beer. Weird for a porter. No roasty, buttery maple/caramel flavor I look for in porters. Relentlessly lingering funky bitterness. Almost a drain pour.
