Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

Bottle, pours a dark brown/black with an aroma of chocolate, malts, roasted coffee and caramel. Tastes very toasted, slight flavors of coffee and chocolate with a dry hop finish. Very drinkable and tasty. Not the best porter out there, but definitely above average.

This was an okay beer. I would probably try it again and I did get a pretty good deal on the bottle.

12oz bottle from The Lighthouse. Pours black with ruby-red highlights and virtually no head. Smells malty with coffee and caramel. Tastes very roasty - coffee, chocolate and caramel in almost equal amounts. Slight hop bite on the finish. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty drinkable. A solid tasty brew. Good stuff.

Sampled out of a bottle. Pours with a nice little head on it that lasts for quite a bit. Pour is dark brown. Aroma is nice and sweet and taste is pretty sweet with not much but a hint a chocolate. Overall pretty nice brew but lacks any real punch.

Pours fairly dark but lets more light through than many porters. The head was a light brown color and disappeared quickly. The beer smells lightly of malt and cocoa. The beer tasted a little sour when it hi my mouth but quickly mellowed into a smooth, sweet flavor. This beer isn’t bad it is just a little thin looking, smelling, and tasting for a serious porter. For those who like their porters on the lighter side this might be a good bet.

I found this to be one of the better flying dogs. it has an awesome aroma. Not much head unfortunately. 12 ounce bottle- poured a deep and slightly translucent mahogony brown with a moderate beige head that cleared too quickly for my taste.

Dark, redish brown with a medium tan head. Mlaty and salty notes. Sweet & sour, malt and nut taste. Medium body with a dryish aftertaste.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Brown body. Slight head. Sweet nose of nuts. Very nice texture and mouthfeel. Taste of chocolate, nuts, caramel but none too pronounced, and slight malts. Hoppy and peppery finish. Enjoyable.
