Pours a nice reddish brown. Smells of roasted malt and a little caramel. Light to medium body. Flavors of coffee and maybe chocolate, the end is slightly dry. Not the best porter I’ve had but drinkable. pDazzler (6), Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2009 12 oz bottle Stephanie’s in Doyletown Pa.. Deep red color. Taste was ok nothing to special. Had a fruity core. An average porter. To be fair, I had this after a Fullers London porter some my critique is probably skewed. Not great but worth another try. Slipstream (746), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2009 The one I had was called Road Dog Porter, not Scottish Porter. The label proudly exclaims "Good beer, no shit", and they say it took 4 years of legal wrangling to be able to put this on their labels. Well, good for Flying Dog. Fairly flat, brown pour. Light, malty aroma. To me it tastes like a good light to medium weight porter. There are toasted grains and coffee in the forefront, and the hopping is on the light side. Perfectly acceptable. bburychka (55), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 7, 2009 I bought a Flying Dog sampler pack. As I’m not a fan of porter, I was waiting to try this one. Surprisingly, it was not that bad. Usually, I wouldn’t drink a porter by choice, but I would drink the Road Dog again. Madsnp (616), Odense C, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Colabrown beer with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted, some syrup-like sweetness and some chalk and liquirice. Flavour is also roasted, dry and quite simple. Easy and balanced to drink with nice carbonation. Good, roasted beer, but still I wanted something more, because Road Dog is too balanced and there are nothing thrilling: thus not bad beer. aphalo (82), Turku, Finland
