Sweet, roasted malty aroma with a hint of liquorice. The flavour is roasted, a little dry, with some fruity and chocolate notes. Dryish, mildly bitter finish. TET (226), Finland Aug 28, 2009 Colabrown beer with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted, some syrup-like sweetness and some chalk and liquirice. Flavour is also roasted, dry and quite simple. Easy and balanced to drink with nice carbonation. Good, roasted beer, but still I wanted something more, because Road Dog is too balanced and there are nothing thrilling: thus not bad beer. aphalo (80), Turku, Finland Aug 23, 2009 Bottle. Clearish, dark brown, small beige head. Aroma has sweet roasted malts, chocolate and some nuts. Taste has some spices, lightly roasted malts, sugar, barley. Suprisingly lightly bodied. Short sugary finish. Sonicdescent (374), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 23, 2009 Pours a dark transparent brown, looks like a cola. The head has died into a crown as quick as it took me to sit down. Scent is roasted malt, but the scent is very subdued. Caramel is present. Flavor is also extremely subdued. Same characteristics as the scent but even more reserved to the back end. Initial swig is carbonated caramel water. Dark brown with a reddish tint and a thin head that dissipated quickly. Smooth entry that becomes fairly carbonated. The finish is somewhat bitter and sweet like raisins or dates. A bit watery. Pretty good and definitely sessionable.
