Sanchex (223), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 12, 2007 Wine nose right off the bat giving way to licorice and dried fruit. No really sense of chocolate and very little head. Cola colored. Very fruity taste... dried cherries, prunes, hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Very interested. Cheers! keepersj12 (774), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Dec 11, 2007 About average all the way around. Not a lot of aroma. Nice looking dark brown. Flavor is roasted malt. I didn’t notice the licorice or chocolate they claim is there. Watery palate. Lots better out there. fredjaz (108), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Dec 11, 2007 Pretty mild porter, easy to drink, mild hop bittter finish, prefer a little more body to my porters Mirage52 (123), New Market, Maryland, USA Dec 9, 2007 Poured from the bottle dark brown. Looked flat. Tasted it to make sure and it still tasted fresh, but there was literally no head when I poured it. Maybe it was a bad bottle. Anyhow, it wasn’t that bad. Syrupy texture to the beer, with hints of chocolate and licorice. Finish was slightly bitter. I wouldn’t be able to drink a lot of these in a row but I could definitely enjoy one of these every now and then during the holidays. gabbama (115), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, USA Dec 7, 2007 Earthy chocolate and coffee aroma. Flavor follows suit. Like most things I’ve had from Flying Dog, it’s a pretty good porter, but far from my favorite. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 5, 2007 Brewed August 2006. Aroma like something left on your shoe, and also malt. Great white head on brown in my anti-gravity glass. Taste is chewy tobacco, smooth and malty mildly hoppy finish. Good drinking, I could have two, that’s it. Thanks Tomthompson98.
joebudzjoe (222), Connecticut, USA Dec 4, 2007 Wow! The head on this beer is insane! Froth galore. Classic porter taste, coffee vibe going, my only problem is that the post-porter bloating. portermax55 (118), Canterbury, Connecticut, USA Dec 4, 2007 12oz. bottle into pint glass. Pours a deep, dark brown with a thick tan colored head. Heavy aromas of roasted malts, coffee, butter and earthy hints. Flavor is of chocolate, malts, and coffee with some smokey hints. Mouthfeel is very thin and light, almost un-enjoyable for a "porter." Very average porter.
