Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

Pours a dark transparent brown, looks like a cola. The head has died into a crown as quick as it took me to sit down. Scent is roasted malt, but the scent is very subdued. Caramel is present. Flavor is also extremely subdued. Same characteristics as the scent but even more reserved to the back end. Initial swig is carbonated caramel water. Mouth is relatively thin and bubbly.

Sweet nose with hint of alcohol. Dark brown with a reddish tint and a thin head that dissipated quickly. Smooth entry that becomes fairly carbonated. The finish is somewhat bitter and sweet like raisins or dates. A bit watery. Pretty good and definitely sessionable.

Strong roasted flavor with a residual aftertaste. It’s very malty, but the supposed IBU doesn’t come through much.

Bottle. A dark brown with a foamy beige head. A rich, and a little piney, mollass malt nose. A surprisingly light palate, but also dry. A malty flavour that has touches of fruit.

Pour is ruby with nice head. aroma is a bit of cherry, some sweet malt notes. Flavour is a bit of roast malt, with some choc-berry and a slight drying finish. Only let down is mouthfeel is a bit thin.
