Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

Bottle. Small, creamy, tan head with a clear brown body. Toffee, light chocolate, and a touch of roated malts were noted in the aroma (didn’t really notice any hops). This porter is a little too sweet and a little too watery for my tastes.

This beer poured a nice dark color and had a great head to it. There was nice smells of chocolate malt and sweet hops. I was really pleased with the initial flavor since it left a nice impression on your palate.

Sample at breck beer festival. Pretty standard porter again, some caramel and some bitterness, against a coffee/choc/smoke backdrop.

Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown; Aroma of vanilla, roasted malt, some chocolate and some sweetness. Body was thin; watery. Flavor was pretty bland; some roasted malt and vanilla type flavors. Just hard to detect really what was there. Some caramel too I guess. Not enough flavor to be really bad.

Bottle. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and vanilla. Palate is a little thin. Initial flavor is watery, but the aftertaste of roasted malt and chocolate is decent.

smells like a porter right off the bat, light bodied with hop and malt flavors, hints of fruit throughout as well. not a bad brew, could have been a little heavier and more lasting.

Bottle. Sweet and sour porter nose with some wood and lychee. Deep red body with a large, soapy tanned head. Body is light. Taste has a good deal of yummy woody roast, light citrus and fruit with saltiness creeping toward the end. Medium sweet. Nice floral notes to compliment the malts. Smooth with a really nice blended taste. Straightforward and delicious!
