BCMike22 (79), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 7, 2007 Great looking pour, very aromatic. Deep coffee flavor, but as other have mentioned, a bit watery. A decent porter, but not one I would go out of my way to have again. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Mar 7, 2007 Love the art work on the bottle, but what the hell is a scottish porter? It looks like what I’d imagine a scottish porter would look like, pouring a clear deep brown with ruby highlights beneath a thin tan head. Malty, raseberyy nose. A little thin for a porter, but definitely smooth. Roasted malts that definitely don’t taste burnt, along with hints of chocolate, and sugary sweetness. There is a slight hop bitterness in the aftertaste that doesn’t linger for long. Definitely finishes dry. RJBennett (52), Hibbing, Minnesota, USA Mar 5, 2007 chocolate, coffee, roasty, brown, clear, light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, medium body, slick feel, lively, OK bergface (57), madison, Alabama, USA Mar 5, 2007 One of the better offerings in bars in my area... not that that says a whole lot. bigcat03 (191), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA Feb 28, 2007 Bottle from Hy-Vee poured into english pint - Pours dark brown with a 1 1/2 finger tan head; Malt, caramel, chocolate, and powdered sugar to the nose; Roasted barley, some light coffee, malt, wheat?, and some grassy hops after it warmed on the initial taste; Dry and malty aftertaste; Watery, but smooth body; Next to no carbonation; Too watery and hoppy to be a good porter. glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2007 This porter missed on flavor and aroma. Not near enough the sweetness I expected and the aroma was dominated with a rubber smell. A medium body with a dry/watery texture. The only thing that was really "porter" about this beer was the burnt and toffe aroma and the lively carbonation. Drinkable, but definitely missed the mark. surf1284 (91), USA Feb 18, 2007 A decent porter. More malty than most previous porters i’ve had, and im typically a hops fan. Just felt a little bit watery to me. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Feb 12, 2007 Pours dark amber brown with a small frothy tan head. Very light roasted barley malt aroma. A bit of chocolate, some light roasted malt, and a pleasant bitter finish. Palate is medium (although it feels a bit thin and watery), bitter, and a bit of sharp carbonation. Nothing special, but still very drinkable...like every other Flying Dog.
