Aroma is very weak, I can hardly notice a roasted note. The flavour is lovely roasted sweet, a bit fruity, with some coffee, cappuccino, and a bitter cocoa end. heynik1885 (53), tonawanda, New York, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2009 Aroma is of chocolate and maybe some moss. The flavor is not thin but it is also not very distinguishable. the palate is of faint roast malts. Ok beer. Nothing bad about but seems to just exist. Maybe was a bad bottle. hopheaven (83), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Medium-dark roasted malt profile is not deep enough to suit my tastes. A trace of chocolate comes through beside some phenols and tannins in the nose. Hops come through with surprising vigor and have a mild earthy aroma. Doesn’t have a real big aroma. Chocolate and licorice characters are there in the flavor. It avoids being too sweet or overly caramel, both to its favor. Has a very mellow, rounded malt quality. Not decidedly nutty, or bready; hard to define. Nothing stellar, but still, it’s tasty, easy on the palate, and quite drinkable for a porter. saxo (3561), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Pours average dark brown with a small tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast malts and hops. The flavor is sweet and semi rich with upfront roasted chocolate/roasted malts. Has a nice warm end that finishes clean with not much of an aftertaste. A decent porter but I’d rather go for their gonzo porter anyday. zombywoof (358), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Mild aroma of coffee, molasses and a bit of hop. Dry papery coffee flavor with a bit of charred wood. Pretty watery and weak. Not a very good porter at all.
