guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Nov 5, 2009 Large tan head atop a clear amber body leaves very good lacing. Pungent, citrus and resinous hops lead off the aroma with a wee bit of fruitiness if you inhale long enough. Citrus hops hold sway on the palate, but with sufficient sweet malts to help balance things out. Medum bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel, with a bitter, lingering finish. Pretty much what I look for in a better than average IPA, especially one that is decently priced and widely available. judasbeer (230), Budapest, Hungary Nov 4, 2009 Deep coppery, orange color with lively, fluffy off-white head. Aroma of pine resin and lemon peel.
The flavor is seemed really dry at first. After a few sips, comes more fruity with pine, grapes and grapefruit.
Dry resinous finish. Very refresing with well hidden alcohol. Little bit overcarbonated on the palate and slightly watery for my taste, but well-brewed one. ogreface (291), Budapest, Hungary Nov 2, 2009 Borostyán sárga színű sör,gyönyörű szivacsos és terjedelmes bézs színű habbal, ami lassan eltűnik egy vékony fátyolt hagyva a az italunk tetején.Illata összetett gyümölcsös és komlós,enyhén édeskés.Íze eleinte olyan mint egy illatos finom szőlőnek és artézi kutas aztán támad a komló finom gyantás keserűje!Utóízében is ott a szőlő / talán Otelló? / és a komló mindent elsöprő keserűje és szárazsága.Ez egy kitűnő itóka! ditch (9), Dale City, Virginia, USA does not count Nov 1, 2009 Poured a slightly hazy amber with a one finger head that faded to a ring around the glass pretty quickly. Lacing is thin, but hangs for the duration.
Smells of sweet malts and hops! Citrus and floral notes. My favorite aroma for an IPA, but slightly weaker than some of my favorites.
Taste is well balanced. Malts compliment the hops nicely for this style. Sweet on the tongue, then bitter in the finish. Nothing overly exciting, but a well done IPA none the less. Sweet malts then citrus, grapefruit and a pine finish.
Mouthfeel is slightly oily, or a little thick, which I like. Says to me the quantity and timing of hops was well planned. Carbonation compliments nicely.
Drinkability is very good here. I could definitely drink this all night.
Well done to another "local" brewery for me. There are a few beers from these guys I really like. This is now on the list!
mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Oct 31, 2009 Finally, I managed to drink this beer after procrastinating for so long about it. Pours an amber body with a frothy white head. Aroma of piny malts and some sugary malts. Taste is pretty hoppy, but again not excessive. Arguably tastes better when it is warm as I drank a whole six pack of this yesterday. Dry at the end, but doesn’t leave your mouth parched like Green Flash beers in particular. Pretty dank overall. crazyvin (1246), New York, USA Oct 29, 2009 Colorado-style IPA? Poured a nice light amber hue with a nice white head. Aroma had notes of mild pine and sugar cane. Flavor had a good balance between the bitter hops and sweet malt note. In the long run this beer had more sweetness that hop bite. armando629 (954), Budapest, Hungary Oct 28, 2009 0,355 l bottle.
Nice deep amber body with a small but delicious lacing off-white head. Aroma of citrussy and resiny hop, some fruity character of grape. Medium body with an oily texture, fine malt and the resiny hop in the flavor with a bit of fruits like lime and grape. Nice fruity resiny aftertaste. madquacker (706), Canberra ACT, Australia Oct 27, 2009 Very nice and plenty of depth and character. Not as good as the APA though. Too high in alochol for my tastes but nice and dry.
