More cunning than a snake in the bush...Snake Dog India Pale Ale is a Colorado-style IPA, power hopped with specialty hops from the Pacific Northwest. This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers. 15 Plato, 60 IBU, Crystal Malt, Warrior and Columbus hops, and dry hopped with Columbus.

Very clear amber/orange color with several bubbles streaming to the top. Some bright yellow highlights at the bottom. A decent sized off white head that was kind of fluffy and soapy. Pretty good retention and some ok lacing. Very nice floral, citrusy, piny smell. Very nice dose of grapefruit notes. Smells perfume-like even. As the brew warmed the aroma became a bit more tame, but it was still well balanced and appropriate. Very solid amount of grapefruit citrus along with the piny flavors in the taste. Considerable amount of hop bite. Resinous in the flavor with a mild bready malt background. Small touches of alcohol. Medium, dry, smooth and mostly crisp mouthfeel. Small amount of alcohol warmth. Covers the palate in a more than average way. As it warmed it lost some of it’s dryness and became a little bit thin. Pretty good brew here. Decently balanced in all aspects. A worthy IPA. Very easy to drink. Good for both Spring and Summer. A little bit high in ABV for a session brew, but it would still be easy to down a few.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head. The aroma is mild citrus, spices, and sawdust. The flavor is very bitter, and not much else. The palate is heavy, sticky and acidic. Overall, a very single-minded IPA, with little balance or subtlety.

gold w/ pink hue, clear with lots of bubbles soft nettle and grass hops on the nose thin body and mildly fizzy very balanced IPA. hops are dry and grassy with slight bitter finish. Still, there is enough sweet malt to balance it. b/c hops aren’t big, malt doesn’t need to be hugely sweet either. very nice.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2011 Botlle; clear golden to slightly orange beer with small white head; aroma- hops, mostly citrus and pine coming through; taste-slight sweetness quickly overtaken by moderate bitterness, citrus again, quite fizzy, with long bitter finish. Good beer

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Pronounced fruity and slightly spicy hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, peaches and a cara-malty background. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied at best with a moderate carbonation. Dry cara-malty and quite rounded fruity hoppy taste, accompanied by spicy and slightly woody accents; bitter and dry finish with piney and slightly woody noble hops. Pleasant. 15.II.11

Growler. Pours clear orange, bright, with a fluffy off-white head that leaves thick lacing. Aromas of sweet, fresh pine, grapefruit peel, and slight dough. The flavor is sugary spruce and bitter pine, bready malt, and a little sugar and citrus peel in the finish with some alcohol. Pretty sessionable; medium carbonation and full-bodied, and nearly creamy. A tasty IPA; I could have a few more of these. [605]

Had this on tap last night at dinner with my wife for Valentine’s Day. I’ve got a bit of a sinus issue so my impressions may be way off. I found the aroma very weak, a bit of something fruity but no strong components. But it tasted much better than it smells. Very strong floral taste with citrus, maybe grapefruit, notes. Not a lot of malt components. Finish is dry and quite bitter with a nice linger. Very enjoyable beer and great with dinner.

Bottle. Clear light amber with dirt white head. Aroma is fruity with mango, passionfruit, some pineapple, flowery hoppy with some resin and a hint of cat pee. Taste is fruity hoppy bitter with notes of resin, pine, caramel and a round fat note like fried butter. Carbonation is quite soft and the body is medium.
