COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
More cunning than a snake in the bush...Snake Dog India Pale Ale is a Colorado-style IPA, power hopped with specialty hops from the Pacific Northwest. This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers. 15 Plato, 60 IBU, Crystal Malt, Warrior and Columbus hops, and dry hopped with Columbus.

0.355 l bottle. My first IPA-style beer ever, so I cannot compair it to other similar brews. This has a copper colour with a creamy, fine pored head, sparkling’s kinda average. Fruity (citrus, apricot) and hoppy smell. The start is light sharp and sweet, the taste is fruity-flavoured and sweet, too. The aroma is mainly of citrus/floral hops with notes of herbals, the finish is bitter, dry and some alcohol’s warming up pleasantly. Body’s medium, texture’s kinda slick. For me a bit too much of the sweetness, but aside from this an interesting and nice stuff.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick amber color and a light acid taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a very citrus touch. This beer smells citrusly.

Looks nice sitting in the glass. Clear amber color, creamy head, nice lacing. Aroma is nothing to write ratebeer (home) about. The initial flavor has a strange malty sweetness, but the finish has a nice bitter hop flavor. The bottle doesn’t list the bottling date, so age may have affected this beer. Not a standout IPA

Pours amberish golden with an off white head. Slight citrus aroma is evident. Flavor has a touch of grapefruit. Hop bitterness is there but subdued for an IPA.

12oz bottle from BevMo. Poured clear copper with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy & malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium smooth bitter finish of moderate duration. A solid drinkable beer.

12oz bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of citrus hops. Bitter hops flavor. Bite into a grapefruit rind. Light bodied, malt backbone. Missing balance.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2010 Dark orange color; aroma of pinewood and citrus hops, even resin; light to medium body, moderate carbonation; flavor mainly of bitter hops with some caramel-like sweetness. Okay, maybe a bit harsh, maybe too light-bodied, maybe lacking the fruitiness a bit, but okay.
