More cunning than a snake in the bush...Snake Dog India Pale Ale is a Colorado-style IPA, power hopped with specialty hops from the Pacific Northwest. This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers. 15 Plato, 60 IBU, Crystal Malt, Warrior and Columbus hops, and dry hopped with Columbus.

First drank on draft at Delirium in Brussels, oddly enough. Dark golden beer with decent, sticky head. Very nice nose, plenty of floral and citrus hopping. Flavor brings a touch of sweetness than a big dose of tongue-coating bitterness. A little thick and sticky but still lively. A little drier in the finish, with a long bitter aftertaste. Nice aroma but too sticky and bitter to be refreshing.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2011 Amber gold, good foamy white head, good lacing, nice carbonation. Aroma: Lots of American hops, some sweet tones, apricot, grass and loads of citrus. Sweet malt flavour with hints of caramel, pronounced grapefruit and floral hops. Finish is quite dry and very pleasantly bitter. Texture is smooth and a bit oily. Very good IPA. (from bottle)

Pours the color of a hazy weak tea with a pitted off-white head. The nose is a subtle blend of fruity/citric hops and caramel malt. Medium-bodied and creamy with a moderately bitter finish. The flavor is of fruity, citric and lightly piny hops and sweet caramel malt, finishing with a fairly tight, bitter finish. I like this newer recipe a heckuva lot more than I did the old Snake Dog. This is a solid brew, and it’s pretty sessionable for 7.1% ABV; that could be a dangerous combo. ;)

My "go to" IPA here in SC due to its availability and fairly big flavor. Again, as with many IPAs, I find myself wanting just a little more in the body, but compared to many others, this is full-bodied. Hops are citrusy, piney, grassy, slightly lemony.

Bottle 0,355 l. Copper brown with off white head. Nose has lot’s of hops, fresh, some citrus and pine with grass and faint fruit drops. Flavor is a bit thin with bitter hoppiness. The hops are a bit straightforward and not as juicy as it used to be pre 2008. Nice, but not as complex and feels thinner. Calls for another rate.

Great copper color. Aroma is fresh and citrus-like. Taste is awesome, the hops take over and together with a fruity character, the brew steps into great dimensions. Big mouthfeel, and almost oily at the end. Me likes very much.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2013 A beautiful, red-brown beer with a thin and blond head. Aroma is exotic and fruitfull: papaijas, tropical fruits, some sweetness and hint of pine needles. Taste is highly bitter, some pine and not so fruitfull than aroma. Aftertaste is long, dry and piney, even resin. Quite easy to drink, but there are enough malts to make this nicely slippery to drink. First breath promises heavenly beer, but the taste is not so great than aroma, more fruits would be great. There are some weakness in this IPA, but anyway, this is the beer for hopheads and fruit-lovers.

Medium coarse light brown head doesn’t last. Brown body. Malty raisiny aroma with notes of fruit, resin, and freshly sawed wood. Dry-sweetish malty raisiny biscuity taste with resiny wooden pine needle notes. Light body. Soft mouthfeel. Dry malty resiny aftertaste with sugary spicy notes. Maybe a bit sweet. Lovely, and dangerously drinkable. Subtle more than punchy. (0.355l bottle, wine monopoly.)

Aroma is distinctly filled with grapefruit and biscuits. Color is medium amber with a quarter inch tall off white head. Flavor of grapefruit, sweet malt, pine, minerals and then a dry, husky finish that seems a little rough. Good aroma and initial flavor, but I personally don’t care for the harsh finish.

I love IPA but this has something funny. something wrong. lots of sweetness and lemon and grapefruit. Hops are overwhelming, good hops but the mix and quantity fails.
