More cunning than a snake in the bush...Snake Dog India Pale Ale is a Colorado-style IPA, power hopped with specialty hops from the Pacific Northwest. This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers. 15 Plato, 60 IBU, Crystal Malt, Warrior and Columbus hops, and dry hopped with Columbus.

Bottle Pours a hazy orange amber with a thin white head. The head has average staying. Laces fairly well. Aroma is hoppy with touch of malt. Mostly pine and citrus. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is not as hoppy as hoped but okay. Blended well and a good mix of hops and malts. Has an oily texture. The body is medium to full. Alcohol is hidden well. Has a decent finish with a decent aftertaste. Decent beer.

20100322 12oz bottle from Honeygo. Dark golden color with super sticky, large white head. Aroma is basic C-hops, fruity though generic yeast-malt combo. Medium bodied, prickly eff, lingering citrus pith bitterness lasts. Lots of grapefruit pith flavor, candy apple, some toffee and tea notes from the malts. Really, just a solid, pleasant, clean, basic IPA. I wish it was lower ABV because it would be an easy, cheap, regular quaff.

Poured a orange/gold with a small white head. Aroma: pine, citrus, hops. Taste: hops and pine. Bitter finish. Body was a little thin. Overall not much going on with this brew... good enough, but more on the average side.

12oz bottle. hazy orange/gold under a large foamy white head. spicy hop aroma with notes of caramel. flavor is spicy again with soapy notes, a bit white grape and herbal tea. medium bodied. a very simple ipa. tastes a lot like mikkeller’s warrior single hop. a good moderately sweet malty backbone with a pretty simple hop profile. the abv is hidden well. unfortunately, i don’t remember the old snake dog for comparison(it’s been too long) but the ingredients and abv are completely different. i still get those same grapey flavors though.

(Draught at Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm, 12 March 2010) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, grainy malt, caramel and a touch of pine needles. Fruity, hoppy taste with grainy malt, orange peel, dried apricots and generous doses of piney, citrussy hops in a fairly bitter and dry finish. More than medium body. Solid and well balanced IPA, without going to extremes. Nice one.

Pours a medium clear amber with small white head. /good lacing throughout. Aroma is not strong, but good. Taste is well balanced - tart, sour, dry, fruitful with just enough malt presence to balance it all out. Good beer and would purchase again. Cheers!
