More cunning than a snake in the bush...Snake Dog India Pale Ale is a Colorado-style IPA, power hopped with specialty hops from the Pacific Northwest. This is the brewery’s hop monster, and the citrus fruit aroma will hypnotize the senses of the most hardcore of craft drinkers. 15 Plato, 60 IBU, Crystal Malt, Warrior and Columbus hops, and dry hopped with Columbus.

Pours a clear amber color, with a decent, fast vanishing head. Piny, grassy hops define the nose, along with white bread-malts, soft yeast and raisins. While seeing music and beer in colors, this one, unlike most other IPAs, has the color green, because of the just-cut-grass smell, along with wooden pine. Unusual low carbonation, very smooth mouthfeel. Begins with toffee and bready malts. Soon the hops hit the palate in a relentless way. While starting fruity with lemon peel and floral flavors, again grass and pine, hops then turn very bitter, wrapping up the whole palate. Also cannabis becomes detectable in a very pleasant way, with hints of brown sugar. Malt is responsible for the balance, as it adds a subtle dough earthiness. The tongue seems to dry out, as the tremendous, long bitter aftertaste begins. Nonetheless, this beer is a pleasant surprise, the hops are very huge and aggressive in this, but in a very convincing, thoughtful way, backed up by multiple, supporting flavors, all with the same goal: making this as hoppy as possible. Success!

Draft - Pale malt with a ver light hop profile. Clear copper with a thin white head. Light bitterness and hop profile with a long resinous finish. Underwhelming.
