changeup45 (581), Orlando, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 Pours a clear copper color with a thin head. Aroma is of some sweet fruits, hops and a malty almost grassy lager like scent. The flavor has that nice bitter grapefruit hoppy flavor but it doesn’t bite hard, rather it’s gradual and easy going. It finishes bitter and somewhat dry but probably wetter than some other IPA’s. I can see this as a good entry level IPA. Nothing special but it’s still pretty good and I’d have it again.
Sparky27 (610), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a big billowy 3 finger off-white head that leaves some nice lacing. Nose is floral hops and malt. Taste is sweet citrus and caramel upfront with a fairly long lasting resin finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent IPA - would buy again. mesperon (29), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Oct 13, 2008 Clear copper wth fant head. Deep aroma of very herby, bitter almost spicy hops. Actually, after trying to place the aroma, I ealize that it smells just like marijuana. Very full savory, woodsy and herbal hops flavor. Malt is hiden, but there. Just a bit of sweetness to complement the hops. OIly pot resin is also reflected in the taste. Hits bitter to start, but finishes clean. Hop bitterness lasts in the cheeks a little.
fidelis83 (70), Clinton, Iowa, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours crisp dark orange tinted amber with a 1 finger off white head that leaves sparse lacing and lasts a while. Nose is floral hops, biscuity malt, and grass, a little grainy malt in there too. Flavor is caramel and biscuity malts, quickly accompanied by grapefruit and lime citrus hops, a little floral hops, and fresh baked bread. FInish is caramel malt coming back strong with the grapefruit and grassy hops, then fading to a slightly bitter but sweet aftertaste. Body is medium and somewhat creamy, not too sticky. Pretty light and clean, a good example of an American IPA that is fairly strong but not overly heavy. RedSox2004 (177), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Oct 11, 2008 Clear golden amber with a generous head and very nice lacing. Stong grassy hops aroma with plenty of biscuity malts. Assertive hops bitterness offset by almost as strong malt sweetness. Citrus and caramel are the clearest of a complex flavor profile. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, carbonation is only mild, but a nice crisp finish. Dango (11), Snekkersten, Denmark Oct 10, 2008 This is great. Strong hoppy, and wine-like aroma, beatifully rounded and very hoppy taste. I love this stuff, although it is very sweet and full for an IPA.
The bottle I just had looks like the one on the picture, but only lists an alcohol percentage of 5,6. It tastes stronger and if it was 7.1 like listed here, it would not suprise me.
