bottle to dimpled mug. pours a copper color, hazy with a sparse off white head. Good lacing. Typical IPA flavors of hop & some malt. The dominant profile for this hop is grapefruit. Pretty yummy.

Very biting taste in the IPA. Pretty typical smell, taste, and color from the style. Overall nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Perhaps the hoppiest IPA of the Flying Dog Brewery. Apart from hops there is also some slight grapefruit in the aroma.

Bottle. Orange body, medium head. Sweet aroma with tangerines and hay. Sweet fruity hops in taste, dry medium bitter finish. Not very unique but does almost everything else right. Bitterness is below average for an IPA so it’s pretty sessionable too.

tap at beertemple. at first I thought it too malty, earthy. but second taste displays excellent balance between hoppy and sweet. it has 7% but is light on the tongue. carbon is moderate. very drinkable but not thin. really nice!

Can. Hazy amber and white head. A little candy, pine, some citrus in the nose. Bitter and dry with citrus undertones in the mouth. Relatively light-bodied, bitter finish with a little candy aftertaste. Nice.

330ml bottle, poured into a tester glass. A: Bronze colour, clear, one finger head faded to tiny rim of film, minimal lacing. S: More earthy than what is the norm for an American IPA, the fruity notes were strawberry, also had some dark chocolate. T: Strawberry, malts, molasses, slight dark chocolate. Well balanced, slightly boozy. M: Slightly thick texture, coarse edge. O: Less hoppy and fruity than other American IPAs, seemed to work though.

12oz bottle, bb03/15. First sampled 2012 and had it down as standout & juicy. Now: near-dead flowery aroma, dandelian and tree bark. Translates into a dry, pine&quince-bitter honey mead in taste, underdelivering in taste for its abv, delivering a lazy, brute Columbus wallop. Not the most refined of IPAs and hence a puckered sipper. Might revisit on tap eventually.

It pours a clear, glossy burnt umber with a little bit of persistent, creamy head. The aroma is sweet; juicy and fruity mingled with strong floral/citrus hops. The flavor is juicy, too. Lemon and maybe rye seem to be present mid-tongue, with buttery malt sneaking in at the finish. I had two IPAs tonight. This is the better one.

Pours golden, average head, nice lacing. Aroma: resin, fruits, spruce. Taste: begins with citrus, then fruits, followed by woody & roasted taste, butterscotch.
