Tasted as Sour Cherry Berliner Weisse at Sams Blue Light. Cloudy reddish hue with a thin white head. Sour cherry nose with a light sweetness. Hint of funky/earthy notes. Tart flavor with a touch of pie cherry and a hint of spice. Sessionable tartness and light/crisp body.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler. Pours ruddy red and brown. Aromas of sweet and slightly tart cherry pie filling, with some brown sugar and crust. The flavor follows suit closely, with sweet, not overly tart cherry, and some bitterness. Drinkable, but a tad thin. Ok.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap. Pours with a clear pinkish-golden hued body with minimal head. Aromas are grainy, wheat, cranberry, red wine (cheap), apple cider, lightly lactic and malic cherries. Flavors are of lactic acid, dry, grainy, artificial cherry. Bland. Lively bubbles, dry and a bit vinous.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On draft at the brewpub in Frederick, MD.
The beer appears a light shade of ruby red with a small, pink head. The nose brings a mild lactic presence along with, you guessed it folks, sour cherries. Lightly tart, with a nice showing from the cherries. A creamy mouthfeel and mildly acetic in the finish. A touch of funk in there as well. A bit unrefined, but this beer has potential. I found this to be rather bland, though not bad a first attempt in this genre. Cheers to Flying Dog for branching out.

I love the idea of this beer, and the aroma and appearance are truly enticing. Unfortunately the cherry comes off very sugary, giving it an almost medicinal quality.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours and orange-ish red color with a light pink head. Definite cherry on the nose, but sort of sweet and sugary. A bit on the candy/pie side of things. A bit of straw and light to moderate tartness. The nose is a touch metallic as well. The flavor is kind of bland and watery. Some cherry, notes of grape skin, and mild grass and straw. A hint of tartness, some cherry pie, and buttery pie crust. Really weird.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the Beer Table, Brooklyn, NY.
Cloudy light red colour with tiny white head. Mild aroma of red berries. Flavour is also quite mild with fresh red berry juice and mild hints of cherry. It’s not sour but it’s not sweet either (which is good). Surprisingly mild flavour. Easy-to-drink and not that rewarding. Some maltiness on the back.

Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a hazy red color with a thin white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of cherries and lightly tart malts. The taste is citrus, red wine, cherries. Lightly tart. Thin, watery and bland. Very disappointing.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Ruby red color. Not really a sour IMO. Reminds me of a berliner weisse with a splash of grenedine. Decent. Nice for the summer time

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
pour is hazed light ruby red grapefruit with thin white ring. Nose is faint, light cherry and a hint dusty. Taste is much of the same, cherry and light sawdust note with hig carb and light but present sourness. A touch syrupy for a Berliner and lacks depth of flavor.
