COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a filthy habit indeed, our dear Ralph, filled with scamps, tramps, and sick and twisted souls. But we love you for it. Our Dark Belgian Strong has bright fruity esters of pears and strawberries blending with caramel malt character and brown fruit notes of dried tart cherries and plums. ST. EADman is complex and sweet with a dry finish, just like the man it honors.

Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting - London. Thanks to Jan for bringing this one. Pours cloudy red-brown with a fine, white cream head. Semi-dark malt nose with rich bread, yeast, candi sugar and some ripe fruits. Big sweet flavor, lightly alcoholic, with moderate ripe and dry fruits, yeasty bread. Full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish with mildly toasted bread, yeast, some dough, toasty sugars and berries. Good stuff.

Poured from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a rusted copper-brown color with a good-sized, foamy off-white head that had good retention, lacing and cling. Its aroma featured fruits, particularly cherry and some light raisin, with a nice caramel mix, along with some earthy and grainy hops. It had a sweet cherry and fruity flavor, with a lighter mix of caramel, and a somewhat bitter and sour grainy finish. The beer had a fairly wet body with a slight creamy, watery mouthfeel, and average fizz and life.

Bottle at Chriso Easter "Flags of many nations" Tasting, 31/03/13 thanks to Jan for this one. Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a thin beige head that clears to a film. Nose carries yeast, touch of booze, toffee, dark fruit, dates. Taste comprises brown sugars, toffee, yeast, booze, dark fruit. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet in the finale. Ok stuff - the alcohol is pretty well integrated.

Tasting at ChrisOs. Light haze on this amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and smooth. Sweetish malt, little aniseed and caramel. Sweetish generic fruits. Soft finish.

75cl from Appellation Wines. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a decent head which does disappear quite quickly. The nose has Jamaica cake and demerara sugar. The taste has spicey ginger and this leads into ginger biscuits then a creamy finish. The palate has a really rich texture with a long persistent finish. Overall a really good beer which I’d describe as an Imperial Bitter.
