COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s a filthy habit indeed, our dear Ralph, filled with scamps, tramps, and sick and twisted souls. But we love you for it. Our Dark Belgian Strong has bright fruity esters of pears and strawberries blending with caramel malt character and brown fruit notes of dried tart cherries and plums. ST. EADman is complex and sweet with a dry finish, just like the man it honors.

Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting - London. Thanks to Jan for bringing this one. Pours cloudy red-brown with a fine, white cream head. Semi-dark malt nose with rich bread, yeast, candi sugar and some ripe fruits. Big sweet flavor, lightly alcoholic, with moderate ripe and dry fruits, yeasty bread. Full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish with mildly toasted bread, yeast, some dough, toasty sugars and berries. Good stuff.

750ml bottle: pours a clear deep copper brown with a clingy-lacing froth of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet dark caramel and biscuity malty nose with a touch of dark fruits. Starts with good fullness and effervescence with mild dark Belgian malty sweetness and some black cherries drying out toward a slightly warming finish. Pretty true to style, but could use a little more sweetness.

Dark amber pour with a khaki head. Nose is sweet sugar, dark fruits, molasses, banana, and a hint of chocolate. A bit more roasty tab expected. Some licorice, too. Sweet licorice and sugar flavors, molasses, some dark fruit, and a decent amount of chocolate. A fair bit of roasted malt, light spice, and banana.

750 cc from Capone’s. Pours turbid dark brownish chestnut with minimal tan head. Nose is figgy fruit, tart black cherry, plum, and pear esters, oak, caramel malt. Tastes rich, fruity, with notes of apple, pear, tart cherry, and late funk, oak, caramel malt, an overall tart earthy fruity mouthfeel, and a lot of complexity. This one is stellar.
