20110720 12oz bottle from Liquor Stop. Medium amber color with tall white head of even foam that lingers. Aroma is biscuity, toasty, pear and plum fruitiness, spicy weediness. Light bodied, ample carbonation, quick to finish but not particularly dry. Very refreshing. Some floral and slight buttery and vanilla notes that seem very Brewers Art. Mild spiciness throughout. I dig it, and at the typically reasonable Flying Dog price I might end up drinking a bunch of this one over the summer. Well, not THIS one, which I just finished.

A light haze to this golden color with a fluffy white head. Some banana and pepper along with lots of yeast. Sweet, pale malt with a little bit of straw and grass. The banana is fairly pronounced and gives the beer a nice sweetness. Some bready malt and a hint of citrus peel. The straw and grass are there as well. Just a hint of pepper and maybe some yeast.

Pours a cloudy dark golden color. Smell is mild, some fruits. Taste is good, fruits, honey, malts, very flavorful. Overall a quality beer worth seeking out.

Bottle pours a crystal clear golden color with almost no head to speak of. Just a small white rim around the top of the glass.
Aroma makes up some ground with some nice floral and fruity notes. Honey sweetness and bready.
Light in flavor. Floral notes and honey add sweetness. Reminds me of honeysuckle. Apples, citrus hops, bready, and hint of spice. All these flavors make it complex yet everything is so subtle that nothing is any dominant flavor.
It’s very soft on the palate. A mild spicy bitterness on the back end. Clean, crisp and dry finish. Overall this beer is exactly what it was made to be. Easily drinkable and simple. Good session beer that would be good on a hot summer day. Too bad it’s January.

Richmond 16th. Now that I see that this is a Brewer’s Art collaboration, this is even more of a disappointment. Blond. Aroma of gentle honey malts. Flavor is very lightly of vague yeasty spiciness and slightly sweet malts. Just sort of dead in the glass, lacking personality. Too bad.

Bottle. Yellow. Smells cidery and citrusy. Tastes wheaty and a hint of lemoniness.

Sampled at the the Sweet Sixteen Richmond Gathering. Clear golden pour with ring of white head. I guess it fits the description as I don’t know what a table belgian beer tastes like. Reminds be a bit of orval. Does have the floral honey character. Interesting, but I don’t really care for it.

Appearance: Pours an opaque orange copper..
Aroma: LIght aroma.
Taste:Slightly sweet, some hops.
Palate:Medium light body.
Summary: A good effort at a Belgian ale, just when I tried it just had an Alesmith Horny Devil, so that influenced me a bit on my ratings.

pours an opaque honey/orange color with a thick white head. aroma is musty and spiced...bubblegum, pepper. flavor is also spicy and musty...some earthy, barnyard notes, a hint of sweetness towards the end. mouthfeel is lively and the finish is dry and spicy...herbal. drinks like a saison...very tasty but hard to describe.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy dark orange color with a small frothy, off-white head. The nose has lots of yeast, grass, and light citrus. Almost saison like. The flavor is light with some zesty grass and floral notes along with a soft malt side. Definitely some yeast in there too. A little honey note comes out as the beer warms. Rather light in body with aggressive carbonation. Definitely a nice beer to have with dinner. I thought this was a really good brew.

slowly fades. Aroma is bready yeast, sweet honey and a tinge of citrus. Taste was really solid, with a great balancing act going on between a nice sweet caramelly malt backbone with clean crisp floral and citrus hops balancing it out. The sweetness of the honey was a nice compliment. A light honeysuckle floralness lingers on the tongue through the finish. Medium bodied dry and smooth. Very complex session beer.
