4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a semi-clear golden color. A fluffy, barely off-white head of slightly over one finger caps the body off. Retention is okay, and so is lacing.
S: This has that Simcoe-cum-Citra stank I love, along with some impressive tropical fruit aromas (mango, peach, papaya). Only minimal malts come through. This is a great nose, and would get an even higher score if it emanated more strongly from the glass.
T: Wow, this is bitter. But beneath all that bitterness exists some great mango, peach, and papaya flavors, especially as it first hits the palate. Afterwards is when the piny bitterness (and hop oils) wash over the palate like sandpaper. Enjoyable sandpaper, that is. Slight maltiness comes through on the finish, too. Little complexity, but I donít care.
M: Light and crisp, with just the slightest remainder of sweetness on the back of the palate to keep it (semi) balanced. No hint of 8.7% comes through anywhere. Good carbonation makes it moronically drinkable, also.
O: This isnít one for those who are bothered by hop bitterness. This is one for those who like íem bitter yet tropical. I pray to the gods this will be a year-round DIPA thatís readily available and inexpensive in my area. Because even Jebus knows I need a local, high-quality DIPA that isnít priced like stupid.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden with white head. Citrus aroma. Sweet syrupy caramel malt start with a big piney hop finish. Lingering bitterness. This is the best offering from flying dog. The name of this beer was ripped off from an Asheville, NC brewery Green Man Jack of the Wood.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Floral, honey, white grapefruit imperial IPA made to help flying dog fix the gap in their portfolio that would in turn increase their market share. The best flying dog by far.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very very good DIPA, possibly the breweryís best beer. Big citrus and pine nose. Palate is complex hops, very bitter, lots of citrus, pine. Finish is dry, bitter, and lingers for a little while. Itís really really drinkable and while a DIPA not enormous alcohol. Go get some.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: pours an orange amber with an off white head that melts down to a 1/4 in cap.
Aroma: Bright dank hops. Tangerine and pine. Caramel like sweetness.
Taste: Big pine bitterness. Some juicy citrus and a toasty caramel malt back bone. Lasting earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Fairly smooth and full bodied with a mild prickle.
Overall: A super tasty double IPA with tons of aroma and flavor without too much sweetness. Itís apparent Flying Dog has the ability to make a great IIPA, so I wish they would quite teasing us, and knock it out of the park year round with one. Now that my friends, is the truth.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at Voltagglio's Family Meal in Frederick. Pours a pretty copper color, clear, with a very creamy looking slightly off white head on top. Big pine and grapefruit aroma with heavy caramel malt backing, very nice aromatics from the hops. Flavor follows with a strong up front bitterness, pine, caramel malt, then a lingering bitter grapefruit left on the palate. Big and slick but not sickly sweet or syrupy, medium carbonation keeping this plenty drinkable. Overall I thought this was a very good to excellent DIPA with a nice balance between the sweet malts and bitter hops. I would drink it again for sure.
