Full Disclosure: This beer came to fruition because we saw a gap in our portfolio and we wanted to increase our market share. Sometimes the truth hurts. But most often, it’s damn refreshing. The Truth Imperial IPA--the latest addition to our year-round portfolio-is a hop bomb of some of the most distinct Pacific Northwest hops available today. Its sharp hop bitterness begins with huge pine notes on the nose, which evolve into bright citrus (think grapefruit) and subtle stone fruit flavors.

Bottle from De Slijterij van Alkmaar - Centrum, consumed at Frank (camper), Camping Bandstrad Edam, Thursday 29th September 2016 Crystal malt on the nose, along with a bullish hoppiness, though the maltiness stands out. Sweet but devilishly hoppy, thick in the mouth, long bitter streak, fresh juicy hops, really nice, lots of hoppy burps. Hazy golden in colour with a white sticky head. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Butelka 355ml (02.06.2017).

No mucha carbonatación presente. Normalita y disfrutable.

Sample on tap @ the brewery. Pours a light caramel brown with a thin white ring. Nice citrus hop and not too harsh. Fairly enjoyable.

Bottle at home. Hazy amber with white head. Big sweet toasted malts. Sugar, caramel, biscuits, tea, orange peel, apricot, spices, vegetal bitterness and quite a yeasty dominance. Piney resiny hops. Big sweet, over medium bitter. Over medium body, average carbonation. Bittersweet fruity/yeasty finish.

Thin offwhite head of fine bubbles. Aroma of pine sap, sweet malts, a hint of pineapple and cereal grains. Color is a nice medium orange. Sharp bitterness overlays some ripe citrus fruit, more pine, toasted grains and grapefruit pith. Moderate alcohol presence that gives a nice little tingle in the mouth. Finishes moderately bitter and dry. A pretty good IIPA.
