Full Disclosure: This beer came to fruition because we saw a gap in our portfolio and we wanted to increase our market share. Sometimes the truth hurts. But most often, it’s damn refreshing. The Truth Imperial IPA--the latest addition to our year-round portfolio-is a hop bomb of some of the most distinct Pacific Northwest hops available today. Its sharp hop bitterness begins with huge pine notes on the nose, which evolve into bright citrus (think grapefruit) and subtle stone fruit flavors.

pale copper, thin foamy head...dusty aroma, flavors of burnt caramel, alcohol, moderate bitter long finish, no discernible malt (a plus in my book)... definitely drinkable but not a lot going on-- no real citrus or pine, etc..

Pours a clear orange with a thin white tan head. Nose is pretty light hop aroma. Citrus, pine. Taste is yummy, citrus, bitter, pine, some juicy fruit. Dry. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Almost there. Piney, resinous, but falls a little short by NW standards. Pretty decent, but more like a normal NW IPA, not a DIPA. Enjoyable, but could be a bit bigger.

On draft at GBD in Washington DC. Poured a dark golden color with a small, foamy white head. Aroma was lots of grapefruits, tropical notes and plenty of pine resin. Flavor was very juicy, alcohol is present, but I don’t care, the flavor makes up for the boozy nature of this Imperial IPA. For a style I thought I was slowly being turned off to, this one may have reinvigorated that spark. Delicious.

12oz bottle. Gold with orange color with one finger head. Citrus, slight pineapple and earthy aroma. Citrus, pine and boozy taste. Can taste the alcohol in this one, but good.

On Cask at Churchkeys D.C. pours a dark gold color with a small, frothy white head. The nose is pungent with notes of grapefruit and pine. The flavor has a bit of malty sweetness up front with a somewhat harsh citrus hop note.

GABF 2014. Pours a slightly hazy golden appearance with a thin khaki head. Low carbonation. A little gooey mouth feel. Orange citrus, grapefruit, light pineapple, and some caramel. I didn’t enjoy this all that much.

Nice strong IPA that is easier to drink than the Raging Bitch. Perfect from the bottle as it is. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2014 Clear dark golden amber with of white head. Aroma: pine hit up front then grapefruit. Nice palette, not heavy sweet like some imperial IPAs, just perfect maltyness for an imperial. Grapefruit dried fruits. Nice spicy-bitter finish with some boozy heat. I like this one, wish I had five more.
