kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Mar 30, 2009 Pours to a pale golden yellow with a little bit of carbonation and a thin white head that dissipates quickly and leaves little lacing. Nose and taste are both dominated by graininess, with only a hint of fruit and hops. All heads to a finish that is short, somewhat flat and basically unexciting.
Not one of Flying Dogs better beers. linc33 (177), Albany, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 In a bottle from a mixpack. It’s extremely light, wimpy ale. Refreshing, sure, but for what a Flying Dog mixpack costs it should be better. yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 Tire Bite Golden Ale is a clear yellow beer with a tiny white head that disappears. It has a fresh, lemony scent that’s backed up with smoe light grain. It is light bodied and smooth. The finish is crisp. It tastes light and lemony with a slight fruity sweetness. It’s fresh and very refreshing. It’s almost like a cream ale.
ewestern (198), Ohio, USA Mar 24, 2009 Somewhat cloudy golden beer beneath a thin white head. Quick dissipation and no real lacing. Weak aroma of grains and malt with some hops coming through. Flavor was the somewhat the same. More hops and floral flavors coming through than with the aroma, cereal taste I think is grains coming through. Some bitterness at the end. Light bodied. This beer is almost awkward. stchloe (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 24, 2009 Nothing particulary exciting except that its a great beer. I actually wanted another, light and tasty too. MmmcKay (269), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Mar 23, 2009 Head of the beer quickly dissipates. It’s pretty much not there. Light yellow in color. Reminiscent of a Bud light. Not what I consider golden. Very light citrus and malt on the nose. Very refreshing beer. Though completely lacking in body. OK jcr (1136), Jasper, Indiana, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bottle. Clear, light golden body with a small, but frothy white head. The light aroma is mostly malty with notes of cereal and grain, but there are some floral hops. The flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter from beginning to end, though it gains some bitterness in the finish. There is also a peppery taste that develops. Light to medium body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. I expected this "light" Kolsch from Flying Dog to be clean and crisp, but it wasn’t. Elwood (654), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Mar 19, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice pale golden color with a small white head. The head fades quickly. Aroma seems to be on the lacking side. Some mineral, a little bitterness, and a little grain. Medium carbonation with an astringent, crisp mouthfeel. Very big cracker notes, solid hop bitterness, on the chalky side. Lacks a distinguished taste. Finishes pretty clean. Honestly not the best Kolsch by any means and I probably won’t do this beer again.
