Had as part of a mix pack, drank after the APA, IPA and Porter, so I had a little buzz going and an over-worked palate But It was the one I enjoyed least so far. Lets hope the amber and the hefe are better.

Crappy beer. Notes of lite grass, lighter hop, small notes of malt. Everytthing kind of barely there. Nothing standout at all, just an average beer

12 oz. bottle from Quinton’s (Iowa City, IA). Poured a very light golden transparent with a decent head that did indeed dissipate quickly. Light lacing that was admirable for the style. Vague sweetness in the aroma that is sort of non existent. Light mellow malt sweetness that makes you almost miss the teeny tiny hops this beer has. Mellow finish that goes down smooth and feels vaguely honey-ish. Clean and smooth. I enjoyed this beer, albeit, it was quite the step down after an IPA.

Small white head...doesn’t appear to have much carbonation. Grassy aroma to it. I’ll admit it, I’ve had like one other Kolsch, so I don’t really know what to expect. I’m going to have to get my hands on some better examples, perhaps. The malts are slightly sweet. Mildly bitter from finish to end. Something I could see making a session brew out of due to the fact that it has just about enough flavor to satisfy. But, nothing spectacular.

Rated 10/18/07. 12 oz. bottle. Pours light golden with small white head. Smell of corn and skunk. Classic golden-type ale, not much tere but skunk. Almost like a classic American Light Lager. Skunky, iffy on hops.

Pours golden yellow with a white head. A little sweetness in the aroma, also lite hops. Tastes like a lager in many ways with only the slightest fruit esters. No hop flavor to speak of. Very light bodied with a slight bite to finish. Overall very drinkable, but poor in the flavor department.

Golden color, fruit and malt aromas. Tasted slightly sweet with very light hops. Crisp finish. Goes down very easy. Did not wow me at all. I’d drink this again but it would not be on the top of my list

Bottle at Solvang, CA. I would’ve never guessed this is a kölsch (is it really?). Sweet and malty. Something candyish in there and smooth carb. It’s good, but is it kölsch?
