Flying Dog Tire Bite Golden Ale

After trying the In Heat wheat, I was thinking that this would be much better. I prefer ales and hoped this one wouldn’t disapoint - but it did. The aroma is very weak, almost unnoticable but it wasn’t unpleasant. The color is golden and it’s somewhere between clear and hazy. Not much of a head with average carbonation. The flavor isn’t all that bad but it does taste very similar to your typical BMC "lite" beer. Actually more like one of the cheaper BMC’s - busch or beast. One of the strong points is that it’s got a nice feel to it and is pleasant to drink. I could down a few of these if they cost the same as BMC but in Beer Hell (Mississippi) these are considered "Specialty Beers" with special prices. Not bad but nothing special.

Clear golden pour with good white head. Flowery aroma, but very bland mild flavor, almost like your average light beer. Love the artwork though.

Bottle poured a clear golden yellow with a minimal lingering white head. Aromas of cereal, straw and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of cereal, straw, light earthiness and a faint hint of citrus with a crisp mildly bitter finish.

Bottle. Light grassy hops in the nose with a twinge of vanilla-green apple-wheat, but on the whole a very disappointing macro-malt aroma. Yellow-golden body with a fizzy white head. Taste is moderately sweet with light fruitiness and some faint alcohol. Very, very, very light bitterness. Body is about medium but thick at that. Smooth with a bit of Pringles-staleness and light tang. A Kölsch? Not a Kölsch.

So this is a kolsch? Tastes like a pale lager to me. Light gold colorwith a one finger white head. Pee gold color with heavy carbonation. Can’t really taste anything..not sure if that is how the style is. While it’s not very tasty, this would be a great lawnmower beer. I’m interested to try a higher rated kolsch to compare.

Pours light, clear golden color with not much head. Aroma is weak citrus and some hops. Taste is much the same. Some bitterness at the end. I won’t buy this again.

Pours golden clear. Nose is of corn and some mild hops. Flavor is sweet with a yeasty character. Watery and boring.

From the tap this beer poured a pretty, clear, golden color. Not quite sure of the flavor with this being the 2nd Kolsch I’ve ever tried., but i enjoyed it. It was light and smooth on the palate and very drinkable.
