from Amstein - slightly hazy golden blond colour with a poor head retention; subtle flowery hoppiness with notes of honey; decent malt body and a subtle carbonation; slightly oily with some sweetness; low bitterness; quite long almondy finish

Shortlived medium white head, fed by lively carbonation in deep-golden beer. Slightly spicy nose, with some recognisable hops. Very faraway sweetish pale malts. Bitterish, hoppy (seemingly UK hops, if grapey) flavour with a noticeable cardboard background. Hops dominate. Light; backthroat slickness, grist-like. Hops fade away very slowly. Not at all bad, hoppy golden ale. But a Kölsch??? Aber Mensch! Nicht mal nähe!

Bottled: Pale yellow coloured. Clear. Off white head. Malts and light fruit in the nose. Flavour is very light hoppy and has malt, sweetness and fruitnotes. Not much going on in the end. Thin bodied and dies quickly on the palate.

(35.5cl bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Sweet bready and slightly grainy malty aroma with subtle fruity notes of pear, mirabelle and shy herbal hoppy notes in the background. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a lively, slightly sharp carbonation. Pale malt character with traces of cara-malt and wheat, also grainy and faint fruity notes; just a whiff of noble hops can be detected towards the slim and slighty bitter finish. What does one expect from a Kölsch ? (14.VIII.09).

Bottle: Golden with a little haze, almost no head; light to moderate hoppy nose over grains and traces of fruits; light dryish bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; becomes a bit hoppier and drier in the bitter-fruity finish. Fresh summer drink.......

pours gold with a small foamy head that does not stick around. Smells malty and peppery. Tastes of straw, lemons and sugar.
