The aroma was not quite good. Sour and astringent scents prevailed and was less than complementary to my senses. The appearance was quite nice, a perfect golden blonde. The flavor was less than ideal, astringency overtaking the malt, and leaving a placid bitterness on the tongue. Not quite as refreshing as the crafters intended, possibly due to overextending the Kolsch style. The palate was even-keeled, on par with others of its class, but nothing special here. Overall, not a bad blonde, but nothing I would pick up again. I might revisit this if it were on draft at a local spot, but definitely nothing to write home about. On another note, I enjoyed three out of the bottle and they were much more enjoyable, most likely due to the fact that pouring the ale into a glass released its effervescence and the off-putting aroma which consequently tainted the tasting and judging of the final product.

Bottle into a goblet. Dark yellow pour with next to no head. Taste is of hop and bitter, with a nice finish. Bitter is the best in the after taste.

Clear golden color. Some head, not much. Smell is malt, wheat, barley, yeast and citrus. Taste much the same. Not a familiar style, but definitely enjoyable.

golden with small head. looks like a fine beer, but that’s about as good as it gets. there’s a slight maltiness, but otherwise remarkably flavorless. i’ve had a lot better with other flying dog varieties.

Bottle. Sweet malty aroma. Clear golden yellow with a small off-white head. Light sweet malty flavor with a mild spicy bitter finish. Light body and carbonation.

Originally reviewed: 8/6/09. Poured into my stange glass a pale goldish yellow with a big bubbly white head on top. No retention, but leaves some lacing sticking on the glass. Smells grassy and a bit of wet hops and grains. The mouth is a bit thin and watery. Little carbonation play on the tongue. The flavor is mellow with some creamed corn, grass, and finishes with a hint of bitter bite. This is a very refreshing beer. I’d have this again. Great for the summer.

12oz. pours straw, quickly dissapating head. Faint zest in nose leading into similarly subdued flavor on a lightweight frame. Simple and easy drinking, nothing notable remaining in finish.

Botella de 355ml. Vaso de ˝ Pinta. Saboreada en jun´11. Color dorado pálido. Espuma blanca y escasa corona. Sutil lúpulo y malteado moderado en aromas y sabores. Intermedio citric con bajo amrgor. Aguada en boca. Cuerpo lígero y carbonatación media. Bien equilibrada aunque en conjunto resulta aburrida. 355ml bottle. Pint glass. Enjoyed on jun´11. Pale golden color. White froth, thin crown. Subtle hoppy & mildy malty hues. Citric flavor with a low bitterness. Watery mouthfeel. Light body, medium carbonation. Well balanced beer but the overall results quite boring.
