olio (6409) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 7, 2013
355 ml bottle. BBE 17.09.2013.
Pours slightly hazy golden color with a large frothy white head. Aroma is quite one-dimensional with grass and some grain, mild hops too. Flavor of hay, crisp hops, fruits and grain, some faint goose berry bush on the after taste. Slick palate with a harsh bitter finish. Straightforward and quite refreshing.

Can at the Victoria, Birmingham. Truly this is the greatest of all styles. All the relaxative power of Lager, but with a ’premium’ badge. Oooooooooh. This was fabulous, a true amalgam; Lager flavour, with a boost of ’modern’ hops. Excellent. Refreshing. Drinkable.

Bottle. Pours yellow, with a small creamy head. Aroma is caramel malts, grain and a light tropical touch of apricot. Flavour is bitter with lemon, as well as some notes of hay and toffee. Not exceptional in any way, but a nice variation in the bland lager section.

35.5cl bottle from the local supermarket. Best before 2013-10-07. Well they don’t get much paler than this. Medium big foamy head and Lots of carbonation. Aroma is malty and grassy with hints og light brown caramel. Some faint hints of pears and apples. Flavour is pretty bitter. Lots of grass and citrus. Some hops and yeasty bread. A decent lager but nothing special.

Bottle. Golden with a small head. Dry but no great complexity. Still a pleasant if slightly mundane beer.
