3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 7/12/2013. Moderate gusher upon opening. Pours lightly hazy deep golden color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, slight pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors with only some light yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a nice pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
"One o those firmly in the "good for the style" category. Crisp and clean with both slight floral hopping, cereal, and malty sweetness. A little toast in the slightly bitter finish."

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Flying Dog UnderDog Atlantic Lager) Bottle 355 ml at home, poured into a glass tankard, ABV 4.7%
Pale golden yellow colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small and thin white head on top, okay retention, light lacing left on the glass.
Nice hoppy aroma though, fresh grass, some grains.
Taste is nothing special or extreme but a hundred times better than the average lager. Hops are present, some cheesy notes, grass.
Medium thin body, good carbonation, not too low - not too high.
Not bad at all.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, cheers Ash! Pours clear pale gold, thick white head. Aromas of grassy, light lemon hops. Taste is light sweet, touch of malt, more light lemon, and maybe a hint of more tropical US hops? Just a hint though. Quite a light body, crisp finish. Decent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours quite hazy blond with a white head. The aroma bring sweet crispy pale malts. The flavor brings a nice balance of crisp later barely sweet malt yeast and then bitter light hops on the backend.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
355 ml bottle from K-supermarket at Kamppi, Helsinki (€ 3,69) in August 2014. Pours a clear pale staw colour with a modest white head that retains rather well and leaves some considerable lacing. Nose is sweet: ripe citrus fruits and malts, grassy, more honey notes as it warms, also a bit sourish and yeasty. Taste is malts and pickled fruits (apples, apricots), grassy. Thinnish body, even a bit watery; above average carbonation, mild and brief grassy hop finish, dry. Overall a good, light, easygoing and non-pretentious lager with high drinkability - good for a hot summer day. Oh, and a huge WTF at the label.
