From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a cloudy straw yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is less pale malts and more citrus and pine. The grains account for some aroma but not much. The body is smooth and medium. The taste also tends to favor the citrus element with a tart, bitter finish. Not what I expected.

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz bottle ($2): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is grassy hops and a bit of bread. Taste is like a bold pilsner. A good amount of Gemanly reminiscent hops. Nice malt backbone. everything is done very well. This is crisp, refreshing, and inviting.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Doughy, bready malts with some citrus on the aroma. Very pale gold in color with no foam at all. Crisp flavors of apple and bready malts with an odd funk too it. Overall, not a whole lot of flavor yet, good drinkability. Honestly, I expected more from Flying Dog. C rating.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I’ll admit I’m not a beer "expert" and have primarily consumed beverages from major breweries. I actually liked this beer less than a beer from a major brewery, but only slightly less. While the aroma and appearance were average, the taste was not smooth to me - just a slight bit of bitterness. I would probably only drink it again in a scenario involving constrained choices.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drinkable but not the smoothest lager. I liked the bite on this one. But in the end was alittle average and nothing memorable. Just a solid beer. Would buy again in a pinch
