3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2012 12oz can thanks to ryan. Clear light yellow pour with small white lacing. Nose is noble hops, sugar, squash, some plastic phenols. Taste is richer than expected. Not watery. Squash and noble hops. Palate is decently rich and oily. I’m enjoying it though there is a persistent plastic overtone. 7/2/2012 6/2/7/4/13=3.2
Tap at Iron Horse. Pouts clear gold with a rocky white head. Okay retention. Nose is rich cantaloupe and heavy noble hops sweet squash moving to rich caramel and fresh buttery biscuit. Taste is heavy biscuit balanced by rich mango, cantaloupe, and mango hops. Very grassy. Herbal and rich through the finish. One of the best from Flying Dog. Very impressed. Better than Sam Adams Noble Pils.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Certainly not a great beer by any stretch, but it’s a drinkable lager. Slight cider note in the nose with some grassy notes. Malt is sweet with honey and dough, disappointing, but ok. Decent for an $8 sixer.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Lager? HA HA. This stuff from the start makes me think of IPA. Smells and tastes like an ipa with a tad of that lager thing, but not much. Wew, much more over the top than I was expecting. No way is this 4.7%; if it is, its quite a sessionable hoppy beer. Decent head. Good co2 makes it drinkable and avoids a totally oily palate. Grows on you but never quite gets to cheap pale lager gentleman manners. Ipa all over this stuff, I bet it has a high percentile rating as a result. Not really lager as we know it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: lightly hazy deep gold with a HUGE fluffy, foamy white head leaving extensive lace; this is a really good-looking lager. Aroma: light grains, with prevalent grassy and citrus hops. Taste: crackery, a little grainy, with surprisingly generous hoppyness (citrus, grass, earth). Finish: smooth, crisp, dry, and a little tart. Notes: Almost an imperial pilsnery level of hops, but rather than being peppery and grassy, the hops are citrus forward. It’s very similar to, but less hoppy than, the Shift Pale Lager from New Belgium.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 ounce single bottle from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Beer pours a clear golden color with an average white head. Aroma is cloves, wheat, and a light fruity odor. Taste is mild but not too over the top. This was a decent drinking beer, but nothing worth spending extra cash on.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Clear golden yellow with a white head. Flowery hops on a grainy malty base, with lighter lemony notes. A refreshing lager that toes the line between Germanic/Czech pilseners and American craft pilsners. Good stuff.
