thanks to BDR. black in the glass big rich head. coffee and whiskey aroma. rich and creamy, chocolate, coffee, malt, and vanilla.

Oct 13, 2008 Getting my notebook online. Bottle. Pours dark, a nice tan head. Oak flavors come through strong, chocolate sweetness provides a very nice contrast. Good beer!

Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a tan head. Lots of roasted malt and whiskey with some coffee bitterness. Lightly accented with the barrel and a good amount of etoh in the finish.

does not count  Oct 2, 2008 On tap, at Ashley’s at UofM in Ann Arbor. One of the top 3 stouts (don’t be fooled by the name) I have had. The non-aged Gonzo is a fantastic beer, but this version is fuller, deeper, and much more enjoyable. If you can find it, you have to try it.

Sep 24, 2008 This is one of the best gifts i’ve gotten. It came in a nice wooden box that contained a piece of the barrel the ale was aged in,a nice half pint glass, and a gonzo pin. This ale is just amazing, it pours very dark and smells of a nice vanilla coffee. This ale is full bodied full flavored and very smooth, All in all just a great example of a barrel aged ale!!!

Sep 17, 2008 From the tap poured a black color with a fair amount of head. Nice malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.
