Why is there only one time of year – as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns – when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

Bottle from IP trade with Colin split at Watfird tasting. Chestnut brown coloured pour, small light tan head. Aroma is twigs and pumpkin pie, nutmeg. Heavy on the spices, but still quite fresh.Flavour is big nuttym caramel toast pumpkin and some alcohol is present. Fullish body and highish carb. Bit heavy handed with a spices for me.

Bottle at December Watford Tasting, thanks to Fergus. It pours darkest brown wit ha medium beige head. The nose is tangy, wood, pumpkin, sweet ketchup and mild acidity. The taste is toasty, earth, spice, cocoa, roasted malt, pumpkin pie and some alcohol. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit hot I suppose and not a whole lot going on. Alright.

From a bottle, thanks Rick! Pours clear mahogany with tan head no lacing. Lots of pumpkin pie and spice in the aroma palate. Some toffee and hop bitterness with a boozy finish. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark brown colour, complex nose, loads of pumpkin, but banana and sweet cloves too, pumpkin spice flavour disguises the abv, but it’s warming effect soon reminds you of its 9 percent. Not an everyday beer, but a great sip by the fire

No head but a gorgeous deep ruby colour, loads of spices in the nose, there’s a sort of sharp edge to the taste that I’m not a big fan of but other than that it delivers everything I expected. Tasty but not mindblowing.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! Dark brown pour with a 1cm creamy head. High carbonation keeps it in place. Smells like those Christmas biscuits you get at the German market. Clove, cinnamon, ginger. Some roasted pumpkin coming through too, in a burnt sugar way. Taste has a roasted spice bitterness and dark sugar sweet. Sweet like candy. Burnt flavours develop as it warms up. Medium body and just a touch cloying. Sweet finish. One of the better pumpkin beers.

20 nov 2013, tap. Black with thin, frothy head. Nose is pumpkin but not too much spice, maybe some ginger ale, definitely sweet. Thin body, creamy and fizzy. Really tastes of a combination of pumpkin and ginger ale, with some roasted malt notes. It's a dark ale, not a stout, which I like. Pumpkin has a chance to shine through the burnt flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
