Why is there only one time of year Ė as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns Ė when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

Very good seasonal beer! Great taste and not to overpowered with spices. Will definitely get this beer again.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown mahogany color with one inch white head. Smells of pumpkin, spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, bready malts. Tastes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, spices, bready malts, light wheat, with a lot more cinnamon than the nose. Medium body and moderate carbonation.

Had this on tap at Always Rons in Hagerstown, MD. Spice aroma is strong. Bitter after taste but full of flavor. Very 'bitey'. Pumpkin is not too apparent. This is an okay beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

theres cinnamon spice and pumpkin pie aroma in that order..smells almost like a ginger snap..brownish liquid thin off white head..tastes very cinnamony and peppery, kind of like lavoris mouthwash aftertaste a hint of sweetness and nutmeg but light on the pumpkin pie sweetness really just the spices..easily drinkable slightly hot and tingly on the palate..overall a really not bad fall beer Iíd say but not really a lot of pumpkin flavor

Pours a medium brown with 1/2 inch tan head. Aroma of spices, but more from yeast, Belgian clove, banana. Taste is spicy cinnamon, clove then some hop bitterness. Finishes dry and malty. Really interesting beer. Almost a Belgian Christmas ale. I would indulge in another for sure.

Pours a very dark reddish/brown with about 1íí of head which dissipated quickly leaving minimal lacing. The first thing I noticed in the aroma is clove but there is also some pumpkin and cinnamon present. Taste is spices with clove the most dominant and there is a little bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. Not awful but not what I like in a beer and one is enough.

Pumpkin, clove, and molasses nose. Hazy cola color, medium yellow head with little retention. Tobacco and pumpkin flavor. Finishes with green leafy hops. Drinks a little hot. Odd, hoppy pumpkin ale, distinctive.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown color. Not quite stout-y looking, but darker than a lot of pumpkin ales Iíve encountered. The head is a creamy mocha shade, about one finger high. Itís both soft-looking and well retaining, all while leaving a nice ring of lacing down the side of the glass. S: The spice levels here are strong; lots of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove here. Thereís something vaguely medicinal here that Iím not sure of, though. Otherwise, touches of pumpkin, brown sugar, and caramel round out the decent aroma. T: For about a second, itís opens up with a pleasant layer of spices. After that second, problems ensue: the flavors become quite minty to the point of being medicinal. Luckily, the aftertaste is pleasantly roasty. The combination of the minty middle and the alcohol presence sends this one spiraling down into mediocrity - and straight into the realm of crappiness. M: The smooth body is a welcoming respite...until it dries up on the swallow, exposing some of the harsher flavors. Somewhat boozy, and also slightly overcarbonated. O: This reminds me that while there are a few rock-solid beers from this brewery (like Raging Bitch), some of their other stuff is painfully mediocre. Like this - actually, no, it kind of sucks. Will not be buying again.
