3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
20 nov 2013, tap. Black with thin, frothy head. Nose is pumpkin but not too much spice, maybe some ginger ale, definitely sweet. Thin body, creamy and fizzy. Really tastes of a combination of pumpkin and ginger ale, with some roasted malt notes. It's a dark ale, not a stout, which I like. Pumpkin has a chance to shine through the burnt flavors.

35cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of pumpkin pie, lots of spices, cinnamon, mace, clove, nutmeg, dark fruits, liquorice. Flavour has the same qualities, but is less spicy and more malt-forward, some liquorice in the bittersweet finish. Medium to full-bodied. Nice.

Almost clear mahgony brown with a big old beige head.
Nose is dark toffee, light booze, pumpkin pie, orange peel, woody, light medicinals, nutmeg.
Taste comprises mashed pumpkin, dark toffee, light spice, clove.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, lightly warming booze in the finish.
One of the better pumpkin beers I’ve tasted - solid enough fayre.

Clear, dark brown colour, like strong black tea. Only a light head, very light brown.
Spicy and sweet aroma. Licorice.
Tastes sweet at first, caramel, then a long bitterness and warming sensation from the alcohol. And pumpkin :P
Light carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Lovely clear blood red colour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is fantastic, it smells like Christmas: cinnamon, spices, punpkin. Taste is sweet with a really astringent bitter aftertaste, bit weird. Thin oily texture, light carbonation. I really like some aspects of this beer, but I’m unsure about the whole package.

330ml bottle, deep red pour with a lacing, sweet molasses and caramel malt, pumpkin with spice, cloves and star anise. Sweet to finish with an alcohol kick. A tasty brew for Halloween.
