2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark brown color. Not quite stout-y looking, but darker than a lot of pumpkin ales I’ve encountered. The head is a creamy mocha shade, about one finger high. It’s both soft-looking and well retaining, all while leaving a nice ring of lacing down the side of the glass.
S: The spice levels here are strong; lots of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove here. There’s something vaguely medicinal here that I’m not sure of, though. Otherwise, touches of pumpkin, brown sugar, and caramel round out the decent aroma.
T: For about a second, it’s opens up with a pleasant layer of spices. After that second, problems ensue: the flavors become quite minty to the point of being medicinal. Luckily, the aftertaste is pleasantly roasty. The combination of the minty middle and the alcohol presence sends this one spiraling down into mediocrity - and straight into the realm of crappiness.
M: The smooth body is a welcoming respite...until it dries up on the swallow, exposing some of the harsher flavors. Somewhat boozy, and also slightly overcarbonated.
O: This reminds me that while there are a few rock-solid beers from this brewery (like Raging Bitch), some of their other stuff is painfully mediocre. Like this - actually, no, it kind of sucks. Will not be buying again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(bottle - 12 oz) Copper pour with a thin tan head. Mild but really well done pumpkin pie spice aroma. Not too sweet. Flavor is very similar. Light cinnamon and nutmeg with a nice pumpkin backbone and a slightly bitter finish.

I defo should’ve had this in autumn. Quite comforting. pumpkin spice flavour is pretty strong. Fascinating beer. You know, if you want to eat ice cream and drink beer at the same time, this is the beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle from drinkstore. Pours dark brown with thin dissipating head. Aroma is a hot whiskey - alcohol, caramel malts, cloves, spice, nutmeg. Flavour is caramel toffee sweet, bittering clove. Heavy body with abv managed well. Oil slick mouthful. Liquor feel. Low carbonation. Well balanced but I’m not a fan of the spicing.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of dark malts, caramel, pumpkin, and a shitload of spices (nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, you name it). Flavour is malty and herbal sweetness. This really is a nicely balanced beer, I do not favour overly sweet or spiced brews, and this was just about right.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, 23 Club, Liverpool. Awesome Steadman art as ever on the label. Poured a reddy brown colour with a middling tan head. Nose had notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and fruits. Sweet rather boozy flavour with more spice, pumpkin and malts. Not quite won over by this.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A dark, copper orange-brown coloured beer with a frothy but weak off white head. A spicy aroma, cinnamon and herbal, similar to a popular German aperitif! There is also a roasted malt and hint of pumpkin. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a resinous, tart hop flavour, grassy and fresh. Then the spice and herbs come through from the aroma, cinnamon leads the way, the finish layer of flavour is a slightly sweeter, roasted malt nutty flavour that then enhances the taste of the pumpkin. The end is somewhat taken over by the alcohol flavours, which leads to a long hoppy finish. Bottle from Beers of Europe.
