COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Why is there only one time of year Ė as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns Ė when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown color. Not quite stout-y looking, but darker than a lot of pumpkin ales Iíve encountered. The head is a creamy mocha shade, about one finger high. Itís both soft-looking and well retaining, all while leaving a nice ring of lacing down the side of the glass. S: The spice levels here are strong; lots of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove here. Thereís something vaguely medicinal here that Iím not sure of, though. Otherwise, touches of pumpkin, brown sugar, and caramel round out the decent aroma. T: For about a second, itís opens up with a pleasant layer of spices. After that second, problems ensue: the flavors become quite minty to the point of being medicinal. Luckily, the aftertaste is pleasantly roasty. The combination of the minty middle and the alcohol presence sends this one spiraling down into mediocrity - and straight into the realm of crappiness. M: The smooth body is a welcoming respite...until it dries up on the swallow, exposing some of the harsher flavors. Somewhat boozy, and also slightly overcarbonated. O: This reminds me that while there are a few rock-solid beers from this brewery (like Raging Bitch), some of their other stuff is painfully mediocre. Like this - actually, no, it kind of sucks. Will not be buying again.

Bottle from Great Grog Bottle Shop. Pours a dark pour. Pumpkin spice very present on the nose. Very spiced taste. Strong pumpkin spice, cardamon and cinnamon. Roasted malts underneath. Feels very warming, although the pumpkin spice is quite attritional for my liking

Pumpkin pie spices dominate the flavor and aroma. Nice looking too. Very warming on the throat. Quite a bite.

More than solid pumpkin bear. 9% really sneaks up on you, but contains the right amount spices. Glood mix of flavor, but still drinkable, kind of dangerous. Similar to weyerbacher.

From goblet. Color is dark and opaque with a light caramel head. Aroma is spicy and slightly alcoholic. Plenty of spice flavor and a little hint of clove with a big malt backbone

Bottle, thanks Russ! Spice dominant aroma with clove, nutmeg and cinnamon as well as a bit of pumpkin. Pours dark brown with one finger of tan head with excellent retention and no lacing. Roasted malt flavor with notes of pumpkin to start. Finishes smooth with the aforementioned spices lingering on the palate. Nice pumpkin beer.

Bottle. Murky dark brown with a short tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, roasted pumpkins, pumpkin pie and spices. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pie spices, caramel, toasted dark bread and candy notes. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more roasted malt, chocolate notes, caramel, pumpkin pie and pumpkin pie spices. Tasty!

Bottle. Dark brown. Cinnamon, clove, and brown sugar aroma. The taste adds booze, pumpkin, and autumn spices. The body is thin but, the taste is rich with the 9% kicking in on the finish. Overall, a great big pumpkin brew that warms you up with a lot of flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sweet and a little dark. Spices come through but not as much pumpkin. The sweetness works well with the complexity. A little roastiness, maybe chocolate malt. Dark color, maybe a little red or orange. Nice fall warmer. Something about the aroma I donít like as much.
