Why is there only one time of year – as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns – when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with khaki head and lacing. Nose is cinnamon, nutmeg, some pumpkin. Taste is pumpkin up front with some pumpkin spice. The finish is burnt brown sugar and molasses. A bit different for a pumpkin, pretty good.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours coppery brown with a slight beige head. Aroma: The expected spice for pumpkin, but it is a bit different from the usual. Full bodied, or nearly. Flavor is a version of the typical pie spice, but it’s different. Woody? Herby? Something. And it’s flavor is oaky or woody? Certainly a strong flavor that includes pie spice, but is a deal more. I’d say this is one of the best "pumpkin" ales I’ve had. Not to be missed.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, Coventry. Consumed at Lynn and Barrys, Saturday 1st August 2015 Mahogany with a light beige head, sweet, spicy and the pumpkin does show though it is a spicy little number. Drinks far to easy for a 10% beer but I rather liked it. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle in the Tithe Bar, Northallerton. Pours a deep brown with a thin cream head. Lovely pumpkin and cinnamon aroma. The taste is malty with roast and chocolate notes. Spicy with clove and cinnamon. Very tasty.

coffee, chocolate, bread, aroma. brown, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, slick feel, thin feel, soft carbonation, long finish,. Surprisingly good beer, i thought it may be too much for me as the 9%abv. but this is a fantastic beer any day of the week. #hopeoverfear. Good bye Scottish labour! ;-)

Aroma: Lovely hit of cinammon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Appearance: Dark brown, with a light caramel head.
Taste: Malty at first, then a big nutmeg, and cinammon hit. A mellow pumpkin aftertaste.
Palate: Bitter at first, then spicy, with a sweet finish. Medium body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Wow! Not my thing, normally, but the spices and pumpkin really elevate this beer to another level. The smell alone is enough to make you hungry for pumpkin pie! Warm, spicy, and comforting. Not too strong, considering the ABV. Autumn in a bottle!

25.10.2014. Dark brown. Aroma and flavour are spiced, pumpkin, too alcoholic. I am also not a fan of pumpkin beers.

cloves and nutmeg aroma from a cola like body with a frothy white head, very smooth with the nutmeg and cloves and a nice sweetness, different and nice.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury and drunk at home. Although I don’t seek out pumpkin beers, I do seek out Flying Dog beers as they were some of the first American beers we could get in the UK 10 years ago. So I’m always keen to try one. And some pumpkin beers do work. This one is black with a lasting tan head. Pumpkin spice aroma perhaps with a little roast and a little chocolate. Flavour is spice balanced by a sweetish chocolate. Hides the ABV well. Some sting on the finish. Otherwise it’s quite a pleasant balanced drinkable pumpkin spice beer. Fine

Way too much nutmeg for me here, tasted light bitter spices, I am no pumpkin lover
