3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BrideOfFrankenkitty (44) - USA - AUG 12, 2006
I was reminded of a root beer float with the dark amber color and the cloudy head that faded to a film. The aroma was nutty and a bit like stewed fruit with maybe a hint of grain as it warmed. The flavor was sweet, carmel and alcohol in the finish. It’s palate was syrupy.
The dog on the bottle reminds me of my cat, Chupa Cabra.

2006 750 mL bottle thanks to Aaron! Pour is slightly hazy red with big bubbles, thin head, some slight alcohol legs on there as well. Taste is some toffee, caramel, butter and cardboard notes, slight grass in there as well. Taste is toffee, some butter and cardboard, slight biscuit notes but finishes watery and slightly dry. This is rated low, but I’m rating it as it is, probably was better fresh!

Bottle @ home. Hazy, reddish brown appearance with light carbonation and no head. Dusty, slightly stale wheat, toasty malty, a bit boozy, toffee aroma with done hints of oxidation. Stale, toffee, caramel, mild wheat, musty, cardboard flavor. Well I guess if you have one of these, you missed your time to drink up.

Sweet caramely, light yeast aroma. Cloudy burnt umber in color, some sedimet at the bottom. Heay sweetness follwed by a very faint sour taste. Full bodied & syrupy with minimal carbonation. Definitely not sessoin material, but a perfect apperatif on a chilly november day!

750ml bottle, caged and corked. Not much ’pop’ when the cork came out. Poured a clear ruddy orange color. Some lace was left on the glass at the end. The head was only one finger high, but hung around for a while. Smelled of hay, cured meat, brown sugar, and cola. Medium to full bodied and sweet. Caramel, toffee, hay, and clove flavors.

750ml Vintage Bottle from (2005)???. Caged & Corked with the old Colorado address on the label. The bottle was in the fridge at my parent’s basement. I had been saving it for a special occasion, for it being so pricey. Today is just a day.
Pours a deep copper color. Creamy light tan colored head. The beer seems to have some pretty decent legs to it. Aroma seems to be a bit soured. Fruity and deep malts. Hints of tart fruit like a raspberry. Lots of sticky malts. Lots of clove. A decent presence of toasted malt in the nose. Flavor has a slight tartness to it. Not what I was expecting. Quite a bit of cherry flavors and a nice roasted malt flavor as well. Distant chocolate malt, dark fruits, dates, and some more tartness as it warms. A bit of alcohol is present along with a fairly sticky / oily body. I am kinda surprised the bottle lasted as long as it has. As it warms, the malt backbone become much more pronounced. Not great, definitely impressive. <p/>
