Bottle and served in my Hoegaarden tumbler: Pours a whiteish pale golden hue with a small but lasting head and left very good lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of lemon and orange zest, coriander, baby grains, husky wheat, and a hint of classic wit yeast. There is some soapy vapours which kept the score down a notch however. The flavor is acidic and mildly tart with a equally light-handed bitterness and spicy finish. The wheat and yeast makes a play throughout the tasting. The mouth feel is spritzy and lively but a note of chalkiness did creep in upon the finish. Overall, a fine effort in the genre and worth another try or two.

bottle. color is lemon yellow and quite cloudy, with a tall, two finger white cap. Lemon and lime scents stand out on top of soft grainy malts. the flavor is sharp and tart with lots sourish citric fruit and spicy coriander kicking in mid-palate. the finish is bready and crusty with a clean wheaty conclusion.

Pours cloudy pale golden with a fully receding foamy off-white head. Aroma of orange peel and coriander with some citric esters and mild wheat. Taste is citric, lightly sweet and yeasty, with a tart finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation. Missing that special something, probably unmalted wheat. Drinkable but forgettable.

12 oz. bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar - Pours a hazy straw color with a one finger thick white head. Light lacing. Aroma is light yeast and banana, bready malt, esters, and spice. Flavor is yeast, light citrus, banana, and spice. Light body. Has a slightly bitter, watery palate. A decent beer.

My bottle (12oz), shared with tupalev. Pours a murky pale yellow with an average size diminishing bubbly white head -- interesting looking beer. Aroma: Geez, this smells pretty awful. I hate to say it but it smells like excrement and grain mixed in a spicy wheat beer. I know itís not just me because my co-rater thought the same thing, this must be an off bottle or something as there isnít one other rating mentioning this foul aroma. Flavourís much better, itís a little watery and bland but it tastes decent enough. Slightly spicy wheat, yeast, some faint hops and fruit. Average bodied. I dunno, I feel like Iím being somewhat generous with my rating but when I see all the other ratings it makes me wonder...If I get the opportunity Iíll have to try this again.

Cloudy yellow body with a fluffy, pure white head. Citrus and floral aromas featuring bright lime and pepper coriander, orange citrus, and bread dough. Nice range of flavors as well. Well-balanced and nicely dialed in. Perhaps a little sweet and too soft in terms of acidity, but still refreshing and interesting. Flying Dog seems to have finally stepped up their overall quality to match the fancy marketing on the surface.

Bottle (12oz). Deep pear-yellow, murky, smallish white head, a few white floaties. Typical wit aroma; sweet malt, wheat, soft fresh spice, coriander, green hops - not too sweet like most NorAm versions, this is pretty authentic. Taste follows on - the fruit (banana) is there, but muted, a little more body I might think this was a classic hefe - sweet malt balanced nicely by pungent hops and spicy yeast, lemon juice as it warms. Average body, gentle carbonation, more astringency than I normally expect, but finishes well, a little tang to the aftertaste. Very good effort!
