Clear brown body topped by minimal beige head. Aroma is candy sugar sweet, raisin, toffee, some orange, light cinnamon. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, raisin. Watery light-medium body -- hides the alcohol well.

12oz bottle-pours a rich dissipating off white head and amber color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-molasses, spice, yeast. Taste is lots of sweet medium malt-molasses, peat, spice-hops, yeast. Nice, easy drinking, interesting interpretation of the style. Has a dopplebock character. OK carbonation.

Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Pours dark amber with a foamy beige head. Warm malt aromas. Med body or more. Flavor is caramel. There’s a bit of hop flavor, and it’s more dry than not, but it is not at all bitter. That said, it rather fits the style, tho I think it could be taken for a doppelbock. There is a touch of chocolate eventually. But I’ll go with it being a dubble. I like a little more flavor variation - the complexity is clearly too subtle for me - but I’ma gonna drink it.

Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, horse blanket, earth) with notes of banana and pear. Medium bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.
