COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian-style Abbey Dubbel is an exceptionally complex beer with many interwoven flavors. This classic-style Abbey beer features an immense head with a fruity nose and a generous body. Malty in the middle, the beer features a clean, almondy dry finish and a slight alcohol warmth. More like a wine than a beer—it has a lot of the qualities of a fine Burgundy. The beer is bottle-conditioned.

Bottle, pours amber with a thin off white head, subtle sweet aroma of malt and spices, taste is malt with hints of caramel, dark fruits, and nuts, has light dry/bitter finish, not bad but could be better

~Rich malty aroma of raisin, prune, caramel, bread, and alcohol. Clovey peppery spice from the yeast. ~ Pours a ruby amberish color with small wispy white head. ~Prune in flavor with raisin and carmel, spice and alcohol. ~medium light bodied with medium low CO2, lingering sweetness. ~ It’s ok. Was expecting more from a dubbel. feels a bit thin and isn’t all that interesting. Still drinkable and enjoyable

12oz Bottle poured into a Corsendonk badged stemmed tulip on 14th July 2014 in Orange County while on holiday. Looked fine a red hue to the brown body, the head a nun staying off white colour. Fairly malty nose and taste bordering on sweet. The body seemed a little thin for the alcohol, but it suited the beer. Overall not bad, but a long way from what I am used too when I have a proper Belgian Abbey Dubbel.

Malty, sweet, and malty. Way too sweet for my taste. Has body but is flat and boring.

Bottle poured. Dark amber appearance with a light white head. Faintly sweet caramel aroma with faint floral hops. Surprisingly light body and thin, silky texture. Faintly sweet taste all the way through with hints of caramel.

Hazy dark amber with a medium light brown head. Malty aroma with hints of dried fruits and nuts. Silky smooth palate. Malt flavor with caramel, toffee, and dried fruits. Small aftertaste but a tasty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark amber with thin head nose with some malt. Hint of spicy hop in flavor but mostly malt... Not a great malt flavor.

Nice and interesting as all the beers from this brewery. Quite Belgianish but still some shape is to come there.

Poured from bottle into a chalice glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep mahogany color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a good deal of foamy lace on the sides of the glass and a persistent film on the surface of the beer. Smell – The aroma of the beer is a nice blend of fruits and some other aromas of a more roasted malt, yeast, candy, and spice. The fruits, which are the biggest, are of a raisin and plum smell predominantly but have a good deal of banana as well. The roasted malt is lighter overall but complements the fruit nicely. The yeasty smells carry the spice smells of coriander and clove nicely with the candied sugar smell rounding out all the aromas nicely. Taste – The taste begins with a blend of darker fruits of cherry and plum along with a moderately strong candied sugar taste. Upfront the taste is rather sweet, with it losing some of the sweetness of candied sugar, but intensifying in darker fruits as the flavors advances, with the flavor remaining overall on the sweeter side. After the initial taste some light roasted malt and a good dose of yeast comes to the tongue. The yeast brings with it tastes of spice with coriander, clove, and a little bit of pepper. A little bit of a boozy and warming flavor comes to the tongue at the very end, leaving one with a decently sweeter and fruitier dubbel flavor with linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly above average side. For the most part, fairly decent but also noting too fantastic. OK for the blend of yeast, spice and fruit. Overall – A pretty enjoyable dubbel overall. Rather easy drinking and affordable in comparison to more renowned dubbels. It is at least worth a try.

12 oz bottle. A creamy ride with a smooth flowing caramel taste that permeates. A bit light and rather nice with a 7.2 kick.
