Pours hazy brown with small head. Aroma is candy, sugar, sweet malt, and slight spice. Flavor is solid brown sugary sweetness with mild spice, syrupy on the palate, but less flavor than the aroma would indicate.

Received via trade from Hayduke. We enjoyed a bottle together courtesy of facebook chat. This poured hazy mid brown with some yeast being suspended. A decent head and cool lacing that looked like old wallpaper. A complex nose of brown sugar, spices, caramel malts, and fruit. The flavor was also complex and interesting. All of the above were tasted prominently along with some roots that bordered on being medicinal. Alcohol was barely noticed. Tasty and Interesting. Fun stuff.

Shared with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. Poured a hazy dark amber. with a tan head, and no lacing whatsoever. A nose of malts, yeast with some ripe fruit. Medium body and a slick mouthfeel. The flavor tending toward sweets burt there is lots of subtle things going on. Overall a very tasty brew.

Pours a translucent brown with no head at all. Aroma of malts, malts and more malts. Taste follows the nose, no hop presence, sweet with dark fruit notes, a little too sweet. It’s smooth and hides the alcohol very well. Not bad but certainly not the best dubbel, very good considering that it’s an American brewery’s take on the style.

Dark brown with a nice beige two-finger head, ok retention and very nice lace. Toast, caramel malt, and medicinal phenol aromas are prominent up front. Dark fruit and candy sugars emerge as things settle. Flavors are similar, highlighted by a caramel sweetness, with the dark fruits playing a stronger role. Medium body, nice carbonation, sticky moutfeel, centle alcohol warmth, and a lingering ripe fruit sweetness. I was expecting a poor imitation of the style, but this was pretty good.

Bottle. Pours brown with a small beige head. Sweet aroma of dark fruits, spice and a light note of citrus. Flavor is moderately sweet with notes of molasses, caramel, dark fruit, spices and a hint of hop citrus. Fairly thin but smooth and the alcohol is well hidden.

Poured from bottle, dark caramel Brown, decent head on first pour, dissipates quickly, sweet malty light aroma, first sip is effervescent malty sweetness, subdued yet refreshing, surprisingly better than I anticipted after aroma, lighter on the palate than the the color would suggest

Draft at Moriartys. Poured a deep dark red amber. Carbonated head died quickly. Thin body. Malt sweetness balanced well with a hop bite. Smooth but a bit sharp at the finish. Juicy and nutty flavors. Decent beer but is too clean and crisp to read right as a Belgium.
