COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

Pours a lighter amber color with minimal head formation and light carbonation. Head is light with very little lacing and fast fading. Lightly malty in the nose with very little hop presence. Taste is quite malty with maybe Vienna or Munich malts. hops are quite low and settle into the background. Medium feel smooth. Drinks like your basic Octoberfest, ordinary and weak in flavor.

Very Slight bitter aftertaste, but on the sweet side. Overall a very good brew. Was not expecting a brew made by a confectioner.

12 oz. into a shaker glass. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Smells sweet, caramel, slight pine hops. Taste is smooth, easy drinking, sweeteness, caramel, some hops in the finish. This would be a beer for a warm day, maybe a bbq, where you weren’t too concerned with what your beer tastes like, as long as its not bad. Not really impressed by this.

From local tap....thin off white head forms that quickly descends into deep copper belly. Gentle caramelized malt and candied fruits aroma segueing into mild palate. Light draft, neither bitter or sweet. Tad short on overall complexity for designation, yet better than average amber.

Best by August 1x, 2002 (July 20, 2002 tasting notes): thin malt and noticeable bitter unaromatic hops.

a very drinkable beer, despite its bitterness. i am beginning to really like this brewery, everything they put out has not only been very drinkable, but very tasteful and pleasant.

Small head with little retention. Nice caramel/copper color ale not far from iced tea.Very clear with good level of carbonation. Overall very pretty brew.Slight skunk smell with nothing else really showing, maybe some mild toffee way down deep. not very agressive at all. medium presence on the toungue with somewhat biting carbonation. Makes it presence known but is not the life of the party. Flavor is mildly sweet with some roast coffee flavor. Good hop balance. The malt lingers nicely. Overall, nicd beer but not a show off. Very goood, very clean but nothing special.
