COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ESB is a classic British extra special bitter made fresh with an American slant. A beautiful copper color with an amber head, classic style features six different malts, including imported Belgian malts, and three hop varieties. The rich malty start features caramel notes that develop into a smooth, pleasurable hop finish.

Appearance: bright, deep crimson color, nice 1/4" , bubbly, off-white head. Aroma: clean and airy, with underlying fruit (grapes, cherries) that flowers, then crisply closes. Taste: easy entry on the palate, very little standing out, with a swift, forgettable finish. Fruitiness detected in nose recurrs in the flavor, comes back taste after taste, although body and texture are fairly light. A nice ESB, not bad at all.

Gusler (2655) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - OCT 4, 2004
The beer after extraction from the 12-ounce bottle sets in the glass a lightly misty golden amber color with a generous white frothy head that after decomposition leaves a thin but concealing sheet of lace upon the glass. Nose malt dominated and sweet with a light hint of hops, quite crisp and fresh, start is sweet with a fair to middling grain presence and the top moderate in feel. Finish as a stern acidity with a nice pleasant hop spiciness that lingers long on the palate, quite dry and a nice drinkable beer.

Pours a deep copper with little head. Aroma of slightly bitter hops and bready maltiness. Hop profile in the flavor is a bit one-dimensional, but the maltiness is quite complex. Bready, sweet, yeasty. The Belgian character is noticeable in the sweet tanginess. Dry, hoppy finish. Very enjoyable.

a very drinkable beer, despite its bitterness. i am beginning to really like this brewery, everything they put out has not only been very drinkable, but very tasteful and pleasant.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2005 Pretty good offering. Deep red-copper color, good nose and fairly complex malty taste though not as hearty or flavorful as it’s imported cousins. Sampled again to check in and enjoyed just the same.

NJ Brewers Fest. No, I cannot knock a beer for being close to the style intended but I don’t think this is anywhere near. Smallish head, almost amber color and thin body. Mellow almost to a fault and you really have to dig deep for any real taste.

Nice copper color, lasting scummy cream-colored head and lace. Malt malt/acid aroma, some butterscotch. Sweet malt, mild up front and middle, oily gentle hop flavor. Coating, low bitterness.

Pours amber. Aroma of malt, some caramel and toffee. Tastes somewhat bitter, with sweet toffee and caramel at the finish. Not bad.
