aroma is primarily malty...not too strong in any case..good amber color and pure white head..taste is malty some hop bitterness but more as a feel than an actual taste slightly tinly on the palate but also slick and oily..overall very average ale even for this style

(bottle) Light amber completion. The flavor seems watered down and not sweet or bitter enough for this style. More like a mild amber ale than an ESB. I expected more from Flying Fish.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 TonyDiUlio (630) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 9, 2010
amber colour with a off-white head. aroma nice malt/hop balance, hops and even a mild berry aroma. Medium-bodied; Initial flavour is fairly bland - but some malt, sweetness and hops are noticeable. Aftertaste somewhat spicey and then left mild. Overall, not a bad beer, not great nor true to the style

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DScanlon (70) - Florida, USA - JAN 22, 2010
12 oz. into a shaker glass. Pours golden amber with an off white head. Smells sweet, caramel, slight pine hops. Taste is smooth, easy drinking, sweeteness, caramel, some hops in the finish. This would be a beer for a warm day, maybe a bbq, where you weren’t too concerned with what your beer tastes like, as long as its not bad. Not really impressed by this.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 aldoenviro (4) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 16, 2010 does not count
Pours Amber with a white head. Head fades quickly. The aroma is not as pleasant as many brews, a bit coppery and metallic. Metallic Malt and Caramel power the flavor. A similar finish to the aroma, I have never sucked on a penny, but this beer is helping me imagine what that might be like. I have downed some ESBs but this one does not compute.
