COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Rice Double IPA. The fourth stop on our multi-year trip to explore New Jersey takes us to one of the most maligned places in the state- the Hackensack Meadowlands. It’s the place usually identified with landfills, pipelines, mob burials (alleged) and sports teams that say they’re from New York. Although no longer home to forests of giant cedars and salt hay marshes teeming with aquatic life, the Meadowlands is still an amazingly diverse ecosystem providing vital animal and plant habitat. In a nod to a once common food plant here, we’ve brewed this beer with wild rice. We also used brown and white rice, as well as two malts. Rice helps the beer ferment dry to better showcase the five different hops we’ve added. Lots and lots of them. We then dry-hopped this Double IPA with even more-generous additions of Chinook and Citra hops to create a nose that hints at tangerine, mango, papaya and pine.

bottle. Golden with small head. Very crisp and hoppy flavor. Pretty darn good, though doesn’t compare very well to Kuhnhenn’s DRIPA. I’ve had two rice-based IPAs now, and they’ve both been winners. Why is this not being done by other brewers?

bottle to glass. not big aroma, but it was slight citrus and grain? nice pour. taste was very well balanced - malts caramel hops and citrus pine worked very well slightly drying at end.

Amazing beer, with all sorts of variants of citrusy hops. Honestly shocked how amazing this beer was.

12oz bottle, bought somewhere in Florida, Grassroots i think .. . pours a pale gold yellow .. quite clear .. medium head, lacing is quite impressive .. . light mouth .. mild citrus, hay, and light doughy salty sap dripped pretzel .. . easy all around, way to easy to drink but a bit forgettable .. . .
... i think i’ll go with the direct approach- yeah its very good with these toffee nosed birds, you just grab ’em and they go mad!!

Bottle. Pale straw color - mostly clear. Aroma is definitely of hops. Really good. Some malt and very hoppy - with a wide variety of different hops.

12oz bottle pours crystal clear gold with a thin white head. The aroma offers up citrus hop extract malt sweetened grapefruit and tangerine. The taste begins with sugary malt sweetened grapefruit mixing with a brown bread or brown rice sensation. It then gets a bit bitter with citrus hops as the hop richness grows to midway and into the finish. I love hop extract! Nice stuff.

Clear pale gold with thin rimming foamy off-white head; aroma of hops; green grass; heavy hop Flava initially reminds me of b.o., but I know it’s not, so it’s not disgusting; feels light to medium, finishes dry and bitter

Bottle @ home. Pours mostly clear dark gold with a medium sized, frothy and foamy white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is tangerine, pine, and resin hops, light grainy malt and rice, mango and peach fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, light fruity esters, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and heavy carbonation.

Draft. Pours golden orange with a white head. Very fresh. Piney and citric dank ass, especially in the aroma, a hint of green onion even. Resinous, with some lightly sweet malts. Really just fresh as hell. Good stuff.

Pours a semi clear light yellow pale golden color. Nose is citrus with predominant apricot and mango, with papaya as well. Taste is full of flavor with tropical fruits, and pine. Very drinkable despite the ABV, and enough sweetness not to make it cloying. Finish is bitter sweet with some slight lingers. Drinks like a tropical fruit punch. Nice , Quaff Score 7 / 10
