COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wild Rice Double IPA. The fourth stop on our multi-year trip to explore New Jersey takes us to one of the most maligned places in the state- the Hackensack Meadowlands. It’s the place usually identified with landfills, pipelines, mob burials (alleged) and sports teams that say they’re from New York. Although no longer home to forests of giant cedars and salt hay marshes teeming with aquatic life, the Meadowlands is still an amazingly diverse ecosystem providing vital animal and plant habitat. In a nod to a once common food plant here, we’ve brewed this beer with wild rice. We also used brown and white rice, as well as two malts. Rice helps the beer ferment dry to better showcase the five different hops we’ve added. Lots and lots of them. We then dry-hopped this Double IPA with even more-generous additions of Chinook and Citra hops to create a nose that hints at tangerine, mango, papaya and pine.

Pretty dry as expected, astringent, spicy & resinous. Alcohol seems well-hidden, easy-drinking

Bottle bonused from Ed5388! Holy crap am I impressed! Pours a very light hay gold with a pillow of white head and rather thick lacing. Aroma is very fresh grassy hops, a tinge of bubblegum and a surprisingly pleasant rice back. Taste is very much the same, but has a very pleasing dry finish. Best rice ale I’ve had.

Another usual DIPA, this one brewed with wild rice. Visually, perhaps due to the rice, the beer is quite translucent and long lasting in carbonation bubbles, almost Pilsner-esque. Taste is hoppy with nearly no bitterness, and there's a lingering pine flavor. Surprisingly good mouthfeel. The flavor is not overly deep or bold tho, somewhat odd for a DIPA. Nevertheless pretty solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pleasantly surprised. Very light / crisp brew for such a high ABV. Pours straw yellow with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy citrus. Medium bodied, taste is muted hops. Finishes dry and bitter. Nicely done.

Golden color with a whitish color head. Hoppy, crisp, with a hint of citrus and earthiness.

12 oz bottle, clear yellow pour with creamy white smallish head, smells of mango citrus and sugary sweet, medium body but a bit syrupy, tiny faint carbonation, tastes same as smell, the rice actually does do nice to bring out the hop characteristics yet not bitter, bought per a referral, don’t typically like Flying Fish, not sure if this really is a DIPA but this was pretty good, would say satisfying, not a house beer as to much like candy

Bottle thnx to Ed! Cheers! This pours a bright yellow, golden beer with a reasonable sized white head on top. Aroma has loads of tropical fruits and citric hints. Some tangerine, grapefruit, fresh grapes and some pine influences as well. Flavour is quite bitterly hopped, carries citric tones of sweet oranges or tangerines. Nice, drinks like an IPA, but it does pack a decent punch. Very nice brew, alcohol is well hidden and hits you when you’re not looking. Best go to sleep now...

Bottle. Pours a very clear golden color with a slight white head. Nose is very hoppy with a lot of floral notes in there. Taste is much the same, but with a little bit of malty balance. Not bad.

Well balanced for a Double IPA. Hoppy with citrus notes and a crisp finish. Does not taste like rice (duh)
