You are holding the inaugural release in a multi-year brewing experiment-to brew a series of beers as diverse as the great state of New Jersey. Our theme is the state-long artery that connects us. Each beer will focus on the unique aspect of an individual exit, whether an ingredient or event. The journey begins at Exit 4- right up the street from the Flying Fish brewery. As one of the first craft brewers to embrace Belgian-style beers, we’ve chosen to start with a Belgian trippel, finished with plenty of American hops. Note the hazy golden hue and the aroma of citrus with hints of banana and clove. Then taste the Belgian malt flavors and a subdued bitterness in the finish. Bottle conditioned, this beer will develop as it ages. Enjoy.

Pours a very clear, almost straw color with plenty of white head. Upon closer inspection I see thousands of very small particles floating around. Aroma is citrus, banana and clove. Taste is bitter citrus with some spiciness and the alcohol is becoming more evident as the beer warms. Medium bodied.

This beer is refreshing, not overbearing. Not a heavyweight beer. Nice accompaniment to tapas or artisanal pizza. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 12 ounce bottle. Absolutely beautiful pour. Light gold translucent with a tinge of white head. Heavy nose with above-mentioned ingredients. Citrus sweet, hides the alcohol well, but you feel the warmth. Not a tripel in a literal sense, but a delicious beer.

Bottle use by 12-01-15. Pour has a dark golden color with a thin layer of white head. Aroma has sweet malts, banana, flowery hops, and light spice. Mouth feel is medium with low side carbonation. Flavor is richly malted, sweet, hop bitterness, boozy, and some mild spice.

Excellent representation of the Belgian style. Soft carbonation, esters, little hoppier than typical tripel, sweet, but definitely not cloying, some over-ripe banana tones. A bit of a zing in the mouth feel at the finish. Good stuff.

I thought I would hate it, based on the smell. However, it was sweet, not too barky, refreshing, and super-powerful. Julie got it on draft, and we liked it so much I may get a case. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden, clear with a nice white foamy head. Aroma of fruit (mostly banana), floral notes, some malts and some yeast. Taste is also fruity and sweet, a bit boozy, you can also taste some spicy notes and some yeast. Certainly very Belgian like, well executed and quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear light orange pour with a smaller soapy white head. Yeast and candi sugar sweetness. Mild citrus, some floral notes. A touch dry on the finish. Nice.

Pours light orange with a one finger white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, dank hops, tropical fruits, candied belgian yeast, ripe sour fruits, and some musty grapes. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with the addtion of some very light booze. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, semi dry, slightly warming, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty trippel that is pretty hoppy for the style.
