Reviewed from notes (2008)
A: Golden/straw body. Thick white head. Quickly fading. Little lacing.
S: Citrus/pine hops are both up front and toward the end in the nose. Bready/biscuity malt backbone.
T: A diluted version of the nose. The hops nearly disappear.

Pours a nice slightly hazy light copper with a small off white head. Aroma is of sweet malts, some light hops, lemon and citrus notes. Sweet malts, some hops, fair level of carbonation, a little citrus and some floral notes. Meh.

Bottle from craft beer outlet. This was pretty good for a pale ale but there wasn’t much to it.

Blah...a terrible beer. Figures. I’m in another state picking out beers from brewers I haven’t tried and I had to pick one of the worst rated beers in their portfolio. Well this beer deserves the score it gets. This beer’s aroma is as close to undetectable as I’ve ever had. Even with the nose all the way in the glass, all I could pick up is some weird ginger aroma. Pour was a nice enough deep hazy gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was very bland and boring. Bread and toasted malt is all that’s detectable. No hops. Bad off flavor and very generic. Mild carbonation.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 GT2 (3970) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 27, 2011
355mL. Clear golden yellow with a medium, white head. Nose is pretty sharp and doughy, fresh lemon, candy, sugar, somewhat buttery. Not really a lot lace. Taste is shaper, still pretty sugary like the rest of Flying Fish’s beers, but not really doing it for me. Hydrogen peroxide suddy palate. Sort of mealy apple in taste and palate. Not doing it for me. Headache inducing. No bitterness/hoppiness. No hop aroma. As it warms, the taste gets slightly buttery and very bland. Not good.

Draft at a phillies game. Tatsesof malt liquor, watered down something and hints of whalt. Nothing great. Ok for a hot day at a game

Hay and distinct cat urine smell. Cloudy amber, thin head. Hay,and cabbage flavor, with just a touch of cat urine. Astringent and hard to finish. Tragic.

Bottle. Amber bodied with a short white head. Rather malty and sweet with caramel notes, soft spicy hops, biscuit and soft floral notes. Taste is more malty than hoppy. Big caramel, sweet malt, biscuit, light honey, floral hops and soft spicy hops. Body is medium with a bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malt, buttered and honeyed biscuits, light floral hops and dried fruit.

(12oz bottle from Total Wine Desert Ridge). Pours a hazy golden-orange color with thin white head. Carbonation is quite active. Aroma has cardboard (old bottle?), some apricot, and hay. Taste is sweet with malt character as well and a bit of bitterness. The taste is more fruity though. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Smooth, sweet finish. A very easy-to-drink beer. I like it.

On tap at Harbor Club in Cape May, NJ. Hazy golden pour, more like a wheat beer than a pale ale. Not much going on with this beer. Very drinkable, but no depth of flavors. Wouldn’t be my first choice.
